You forget that in mission you often need to move a long way in 1 turn to attack heavy arty or similar Guderian and Yamashita are brilliant for this Yamashita cant hit more than 1 but rommel with para jaeger will have the same movement as yama too and he can fire 2-3 in a row. |

HT's mobility sucks and Guderian is good against tanks which is the strongest opponent. Rommel has great mobility and if you have lvl 4 tech or higher you will get a speed buff from there too. Mobility is so great that you will not use it at all since HT is pretty weak and loses health fast in close range. It costs 25 replenish and 50 to recruit so if it gets damaged then |

You mean Rundstedt instead of Rommel right? If so, Infantry Leader isn't as reliable as Assualt + Panzer Leader. Not being able to hit more than once doesn't automatically mean Yamashita is worse. |

Than Guderian hits, and if more than one unit in stack - Guderian may hit twice

If so, Infantry Leader isn't as reliable as Assualt + Panzer Leader. Not being able to hit more than once doesn't automatically mean Yamashita is worse. my bad, I wanted to say rundsted. |

1- Guderian: Best Axis Tanker and Best starting gen. Broken on a Panther. 2- Macarthur: Best F2P inf in the game, maybe best f2p gen period. OP on a Cossack or a Ranger. 3- Yamashita: Saved me multiple times in the pacific. Great on a Wiking. 4- Leeb: Utterly Broken on Elefant, saved me in Case Blue and several N. African missions. 5- Rokossovsky: Very, VERY good on the KV-6. A lifesaver in Operations Vulcan. 6- Rommel- Haven't really used him yet, but I just KNOW he'll be clutch. I disagree with points 1 and 2. Guderian is very good and arguably the best F2P gen but he's not starting gen material imo, the best starting gen imo would have to go to Badoglio, Mac's power is highly overrated saying that he's the best inf gen is a exaggeration but best F2P? It's just complete and utter lunacy imo! |

I skipped Badoglio and got Guderian and Leeb , was happy
Mac - I got him after all missions done. You may play all scenarios without allies inf gen at all, use some free gens in several missions

For Runstedt I have analogy from GCR - Vercingetorix
Most powerful inf gen , but almost useless - he was always late to come on battlefield when needed

Dougy Mac's crits are, for me, once every 1-2 turns with his Infantry Leader + Assault on a Cossack; the movement of the Cossack make him absolutely amazing and his Fire Suppression means he takes low damage, which is great especially when considering his chance to attack multiple times. These stars/skills and how well they go together make him the best. Which is why I have this signiture. |

If not Dougy Mac, then it would be Rundstedt imo. He trades out 3 movement stars and Raider for Plunder Supply, which, with his other skills, is very good.

Actually I got Yama after Pacific scenario, but not 3 stars
To complete with 3 stars, I got him
In other words, inf gen is not a high priority in this game
If your line of tank and arty gens is good , and tech level is sufficient- game is doable
But of course great inf gen is a big support
