Howdy folks
Just wanting to know if anyones gotten around to developing any tools or applications for use with modification. I remember the old EW4 BTL editor that was super cool, but not being able to read chinese at a level better than a child, on top of the map editing software not working on my computer (something about file corruption, I don't know. Stuff made on Chinese computers don't seem to run well in western ones, and vice versa.)
I did get the EW4 tools to work on my PC sans the map editor after installing several other pieces of software to support it.
I suppose what I'm looking for are:
BTL editors for modern Easytech games Any tool that make modding easier, especially around graphic modification (specifically managing what part goes to what sprite) Map editors (Its alright if its unintuitive, use outweighs challenge here)
And most importantly, any editor made in excel, as those seem the easiest to use.
If these don't exist for modern Easytech games, would you be interested in seeing one? I could rig something up in Excel using macros.

Do you still have the tool, or a link please. I am modding only EW4 on android. You have a desktop: To work with spritelibs you need a texture packer. To edit the graphic library direct, may can work for two small changes, I personally don't understand the workflow many modders do here. Strongly recommended ! To possibilities to develop tools with android is very limited. I just got perl running, but cant install CPAN modules for now. Writing scripts with BASH (unix-cli) is extremly slow and I need to create the .pvr textures to edit the map really, I will try perl again.

Nice Program. Link please....xD There is sadly no programm until now. This was a test with a bash script, but Bash is explicit not usable. I don't have a computer and I don't have any programming language for android. There existed an android-scripting layer, but I never found something working. I try now, to use termux to run perl scripts, but all this takes time to understand. So no development for now.

They all lead to modding apps and possibly new ones.

Thank you. This is a wrapped NIDE With NIDE you can build native java (not javaScript) applications. Sadly development finished, but it is open source. I use AIDE-free. It works to mod and compile FOSS programms, but the problem is, to write new apps (apk), just with an editor is really impractical. A script is safe, just a few lines long and can be transfered in a posting. Maybe as web-script it is most transportable. Who uses the terminal?

I just looked up tools for us to use and, I thought this would help you.

There's a World Conqueror 4 Map Editor (for btl + bin files) if you're interested. It cannot modify European War 4's maps though...

Not this month, I finished mobile-trafficI found a good working obb to run exagear and then I tried to install the pvr-tools, but it was not possible. And the cli-executable can't run, because its 86-code and I have Arm.

For EW4 I use a custom .map .btl system. With coordinates it is optimized for easy hex-editing and I have some scripts to create and edit. The WC3 editor is great, but sadly only in chinese. I really would like to see this WC4 editor.

I really would like to see this WC4 editor. Relatively easy to edit with the WC4 Editor. Hex Editing is less to no longer used in WC4 Modding. With the map editor, you can just do a few clicks to add units, buildings, generals, countries, change province tiles, change alliances and etc. It's a tool that is very efficient and convenient. The WC4 Map Editor is followed by another tool that resembles to hex editing that we're used to, except that it is in decimals and uses tables/excels to make it easier to read. We call it "FBTool", it's a tool you can use to do things you can't do on the map editor. For example, creating events in a conquest. I have also written summary guides explaining the keys and how to use the Map Editor and FBTool. Canadian Modder did make a video on how to install the map editor. I have my own variant of the map editor in NWM version but some inputs are in chinese, but fortunately I translated them all in the map editor guide.
