I've been a long time follower of Easy Tech, since their foundation, and I bought every single release of them. I did it because I like their content, but I'm not liking how this is currently going.
So, with this last release GoG3, it feels like they left over half of the content out of the main release, and they were adding it with updates later on. Every patch could be completed in less than a week and it would be over a month for the next to come.
I do like the core mechanics of this game, it brought in a well-thought new way to do the campaign. Having a single currency made it fine as it was balanced (instead of the common 2 previously used), so were the way to deploy new units. This time conquest was renamed and made more basic, as in previous games, depending on who you played as, other countries will join sooner or later their respective side, and there were some triggers (like round 10, UK gets a morale boost, round 13 France gets a reinforcement in the South Atlantic that will support them in South America, round 15 Spain gets extra resources, etc), but I do like that bigger countries are split into playable sub countries. However I would've like it to be more polished, as mid-late game, AI just spams infantry. Conquest V2 was released 5 months after game release and although I like the idea, there are some stuff that I dislike, like you can't move through allied territory or how much they like throwing units to the water, which them suffering on the landing as they can't land on allied territory, and they move a single tile per turn (they can't used forced march)
Army front was for me the most boring game mode. Very repetitive, just kitting dumb enemy allies and without really triggers, generals or story.
Even the idea of this "Challenge" that came with the last content update came in too late, its like a test of skill but slowly getting to it. It further allows you to upgrade your special troops, but for what really? I hope they do add a final real challenge to it to really matter, but else, I don't see the point on repetitive battles between tier 9 and 10. You keep upgrading further the troops, but this is a late game thing, so once you made it over the whole campaign... so bit pointless IMO. These troop unlocks should've come earlier on if there will not be another content update, which seems unlikely.
I don't like that every time I open the game, an ad comes into my face pushing me to buy a pack. I already bought the game and did ingame purchase. If I want to buy more, I know where the shop is and I would choose whatever I need, do not pressure me into buying something I don't want.
For the next release I do hope they release more content from the start and not leave it for further updates, which seems to be the path the company is leading to. I will still buy it, as they still make games I enjoy (even though they overused WW1 and specially WW2), but I hope this path they're following is just a couple of missteps and not an intended trend.

I think ET is drained out of idea for some reasons (this is Covid time). They add many unvalued contents in some very old games (EW5, GCR) instead of the current game or start developing new game. Almost of newest updates focus on cash collect. I don't have any problem because I'm pay player and I like to collect everything new in game, but it's really boring.

1 I find it curious that you say about the first world war because you only have games where it is xd
2 in the end I did not understand the verdict, do you like the game or not?
3 the truth about the conquest and army groups seems fine to me the problem is that the army group is very easy while the conquest is: either by turn 30 you have already defeated everyone or you will see an infantry spam whipping your allies
the game is very good but i still believe that 1914 and EW5 are better

Surely they will bring an EW5 but more detailed and so we see middle ages, classic, that of the powder, and industrial, sure the game will be very good and it will not be EW7: Napoleon or WC5: WW2.........truth?

I hope it would be WC5: Great Khan I miss WC series and the name world conqueror is suitable title for Genghis Khan (yes, although he's the worst among IAPs in EW5 who is surpassed by a free lower tier gen). A little too many WW2 games from ET.

I don’t like EW6:1914. ET should do a really GOOD game about WWI and the best variant would to base on EW4: Napoleon (EW4 maps’ and overall design is incredible). More historical accuracy, good maps like in EW4, maybe SFs like in GOG3 - that’s how I imagine an ET WWI game.

Hmm, I don't understand your first point, the only thing I said was that they were overusing WW1 and specially WW2. I do pull down the WW1 one, its just mainly WW2 the one overused.
Yes, I did like this game, alike most of the previous ones. But even if I like it, that doesn't mean its perfect. I wish there was not half of the game being published on release and the other half being brought in with 3-4 content updates later on. For the ones that buy the game (instead of waiting a month so that they make it free) it is pointless. Either add some bonus to early adopters that buy the game or do not rely this much on updates to finish the game. A clear example is Challenge, IMO it should've been an extra mode since the start, not a late game thing added in the last patch, as those upgrades you do to your troops do also affect them in the other modes.
I just miss them being so easy. Won all 4 I played and in all late game was just dragging the game for no reason, you have a massive economy and have to completely finish off the rest, no surrender option like on a few previous games when a nation is very weak... and rewards are small.
Campaign here was quite refreshing, and I liked how it worked on this new approach, but the rest of the modes were a bit meh, and it only covering WW2 was saddening. Although it did add a few alternate (that didn't occur irl) battles, I would've welcomed some Spanish Civil War or Cold War content, either in campaign or in some other mode, but nope, all modes were fully focused on WW2.
I did like the game, however not how it was published. Some clearly late additions like Challenge, having around half of the campaigns or most of Army Groups released as patches and not by default was not good. I welcome they expand on a finished game like they did with EW5, but not that a game is clearly unfinished with a bunch of "Coming soon", which may take a few months to be released.
