Another map thread. Greater Austria Alternate Cold War (main difference is that Austria's communist, Germany keeps Silesia and Pomerania, and all the Arab nations unite.) Alternate WW1 Greater China

Alternate WW1 I won't ask about the shape of the British Isles there are better mapmaking sites than mapchart. I prefer MapCreator, as it is extremely detailed, and a lot of commitment has to go into the mapping. For example, I had to honestly look up what the city-state of Iskenderun was actually called, so my alternate Kurdistan wasn't landlocked.

also, Hsueh Yueh, I disagree with the alternate CW scenario. There was actually a lot of strife between the Arab Nations, and the UAR would only include Iraq, Arabia, and Egypt if it were to have long term success. Tunisia and Libya would be too undervalued and would probably have an uprising because of the centrist lifestyle of the UAR. Also, Syria and Iraq hated each other's guts.

STILETT0 , I didn't say it had to unify during the Cold War. The Arabs could have easily asked the British to hand over their Arabian colonies in exchange for oil and an alliance after WW1. In fact, the British even promised these territories so the arabs would revolt. A greater Saudi Arabia could easily have convinced other Arab nations such as Jordan, Iraq, Egypt, etc to join.

Sure, I agree with the exclusion of Tunisia and Libya, but to extreme Arab nationalists they would be considered a part of Arabia.

Yeah mapchart kinda sux for me since it's really restrictive Although mapcreator is for a different type of mapping

Mapchart sucks because of the modern borders, but it's extremely simple to use.
Mapcreator suffers as well.
I just learned about Inkscape, you guys should try that.

Alright, I've just tried out Inkscape, here's my poorly-made Megali Idea. Inkscape is now by far the best map creating tool out there. 10/10.

In this scenario, Japan gets the entire Sakhalin island after the Russo-Japanese war instead of just South Sakhalin. It then develops it to the point where the entire Sakhalin is considered a integral part of Japan, with 99% of people being of the Japanese ethnicity. Because of this, the allied leaders decide to let Japan keep Sakhalin and the south Kuril islands.
