Welcome to America 1812! Or, a much less chaotic America 1775. You are France. You have troops in the Atlantic, and in Missouri. Two easily exploitable fronts. However, you are not alone! You have to face 2 Indian fronts, and 1 Spanish front! If the Russians don't help, then you are going to have a challenging early game. You will make many friends, destroy many enemies, and learn many valuable lessons along the way, such as how the Spanish will defeat themselves for you!
But First, Defense!
You start off with a terrible economy, and two OK generals in Missouri. Jourdan is a mediocre artillery general, as he is best with infantry, while Perignon is a Barclay-grade general, that if you use wisely will become your patron saint. Before you can explode on unsuspecting natives, you must first defend. The Spanish will first send over Joyes. Use Jourdan and Perignon to defend against him. Once he is dead, the Spanish will have nothing except for a few forts. Do not attack yet, though. They will stay crippled except for a few line infantry and a heavy artillery unit. Send Jourdan and Perignon up north to defend against Kahia and a few Indian cavalry. Of course, Bennigsen might have dealt with Kahia. If so, time for some violent land grabs!
Land Grabs
Do not overextend yourself! Send Perignon to finish off Spain, if you would like the extra tavern as the St. Louis generals come in quite late, take Fort Dearborn at your own risk. It will just be another city to defend, and the Indians tend to focus on Fort Dearborn when it is in your hands! Once the Indians are wiped out, send Jourdan with a few Cavalry units to rush all the empty cities and stables. Now would also be a good time to upgrade your factory, for you need an artillery general to deal with Drummond. I used Kutaisov. Keep Perignon with a few more units to finish off Spain, and then send him up north to make a start on Duluth and Fort William. This phase of the game ends once you capture Cleveland.
Atlantic Exploitation
Now let's go back to round 1. You have two land units and a frigate off the coast of Rhode Island. The frigate should be used to stop Duckworth from getting near your units landing on Rhode Island. Send both units up to the factory (probably Moncton) east of Quebec City. start spamming light artillery, and capture Quebec City. Advance down the St. Lawrence to Montreal, where you then resupply on artillery spam, and then head down to Kingston to capture it. Well, you have just captured 4/5 taverns on the map. Send Sebastiani to the north Quebec cities, while sending the artillery units up to Lake Superior. After Sebastiani has captured all north Qeubecois cities, send him to catch up with the artillery. You have just liberated Quebec!
The Hunt Is On
With Cleveland, make a double guards Palafox out of Cleveland, and send Jourdan and Palafox up to Fort York and Detroit. There will be some forts there now, so deal with them, and then send Jourdan and Palafox east to deal with Brock and Prevost. Put Cotton on Light Cavalry, and send him after Cornplanter. After Cornplanter falls, and the British main driving force of Brock and Prevost are defeated, it is now time for some cleaning up.
The Cleaners Come
Put Graham on a light artillery in Kingston, and send him into Michigan. Build lots of privateers and frigates in any port at Lake Michigan or Lake Superior. Defeat the British navy general, and go on a rampage destroying their privateers and coastal fortifications. Sebastiani and Perignon should meet at Duluth, and attack the British installations in Eastern Wisconsin. Send Palafox and Jourdan up to the large fortress Sidney to defeat him. Meanwhile, once Cotton has hunted down Cornplanter, send him to wherever the Hessians had installed themselves. I usually find them in the facilities south of Washington, or the stable west of Philadelphia. Once all fortresses have been wiped out, you have just won France 1812.
