Newbies and Advanced players, hereโs my General path guide.
Axis
Leeb: The Best Axis Artillery General, him and Guderian will wreck trough Eastern Front 1941 and heโs a must for African Front 1941
Guderian: Best FTP Medium Tank General of the game, like I said, heโll wreck trough Eastern Front 1941 with Leeb. Heโll be your main medium for the whole game and heโll serve as your heavy until you get Rommel.
Nagumo/Donitz: The debate for which Axis Naval General to choose is still going on in this forum. I suggest that if youโre short on medals, Nagumo will do a great job, but economizing a little more for Donitz wonโt hurt you, I really regretted not buying him. I suggest buying one of them in 1942, but others say that they are not needed until 1944/1945.
Rommel: Best Medium Tank General of the game. Heโs a must to perfect clear African Front 1941. Choose him over Guderian for the role of Heavy Tanker. Him and his Maus will go trough enemy infantry divisions in no time, even if they have a max SF and a General on it.
Yamashita: In difference of other easyTech games, an infantry General is a must to complete this game. Heโll be very useful to perfect clear Pacific front 1942 and Western front 1944. You can buy him before Rommel if you prefer.
Kesselring: NGL, I had to buy Kesselring to perfect clear New Guinea Campaign. He came in handy on carriers but I actually also found him very useful during in Battle of Britain, where I sent him and a couple of paratroopers to tank for my main forces while they where trying to land. Heโs optional, but if you have extra medals, heโll be great end-game material.
Rundstedt: I bought him after I finished the game and I still prefer Yamashita over him, because Yama has greater movement and higher raw damage. I know Rundstedt has higher survibility and can attack again, but his lacks of movement will slow you down and make Blitzkrieg very difficult. I suggest buying him if youโre stuck in Pacific 1945, you will be able to use him as a Heavy Tanker or an Infantry.
Allies
Rokossovsky: Yeah, I bought Rokossovsky and you want to know the best... in eastern front 1941. For real, he was pretty useful in 1941 and I think I suggest buying him over Govorov for the moment. Vatutin and Mounty are doing a good job to but I feel that Rokossovsky is still better than them because he can hit multiple time and is fast (over Vatutin) and because anti-armour is way better than Ace-force (over Mounty).
MacArthur: I bought him in pacific front 1942 but I think I could of waited until African front 1941. Hits hard, got survibility, mouvement and can multiple time. Heโll be your main allies General for the whole game.
Patton: Really a must have in African front 1941 where having a hybrid heavy/medium tanker will help you go trough every missions. โBut why not buying an artillery like you said with Leeb. Because you have Chuikov and Alexander thatโll do the job until 1944. Like I said Patton will be a great medium tank General, the best on allies side, and also a Great second Heavy tanker, when thereโs the possibility.
Govorov: Nowโs his time to shine. Govorov, the best FTP artillery General. Put him on a Katchuka SF and heโll send hell and fire on enemy lines. Will be very useful to perfect clear western front 1944.
Nimitz: Best Admiral of the game, combines Nagumoโs raw damage and Donitz auraโs. Ace Force even give him some survibility. Nothing else to say except that heโll make the hardest pacific front 1945 landing look like the most fun of cruises.
