So, I have just managed to unlock Rommel with full discount.
I have Guderian (fully upgraded)
Konev (rumour level 3, accuracy level 3 + sun medal)
Leeb (rumour level 3, accuracy level 3)
Kuznetsov (temporary place holder for either Donitz/Nimitz, haven't decided yet)
I have been spending my medals on upgrading Konev.
I have no interest in him as a hybrid. Explosives are sidelined to the endgame when I think they'll actually be necessary, but Guderian will be getting it first.
So Konev will only be getting maxed out Accuracy, Rumour and Artillery Leader, in that order.
That was my plan, until I unlocked Rommel. I know for a fact Rommel is a must, but should I go on with my original plan and max out Konev before getting him?
I have just enough medals to buy Rommel but that would delay Konev's upgrading. I do have all the invasion wonders, including red fort, but it would take a while to recover. I can buy him or spend it all on Konev depending on what I decide to do. What is your advice?

With Konev having level 3 accuracy and rumor I would buy Rommel and upgrade his AA+Rumor to level 3 each before further upgrading Konev.

And I was thinking about the next general, Kuznetsov is worth 900 medals dismissed so in order to get Donitz the grind is not as bad as it may seem. I have been comparing Donitz and Nimitz and honestly Nimitz' skills look bad to me. Level 4 Wolfpack (looks essential because naval invasions are the hardest type to me) and level 3 FL seem insanely good for 1200 medal difference, plus slots for two useful skills instead of using them to add Essentials because the base skills are trash, plus having to upgrade them from ground level. Ace forces looks kinda good but not as much as people say it is here. Who would you get? Nimitz or Donitz?

You'll need them both if you have the intention to finish the game (campaign, mission, frontier mode). I prefer Dönitz because of, yes, wolfpack. But Nimitz is not that far from Dönitz, so calculate wisely because you need to upgrade/buy another gen to complete the lineup. Buy the other gen (either you buy Nimitz or Dönitz first) after you had finished campaign mode. On mission mode, especially exercise in strait of gibraltar, you'll need both of them. In frontier mode, level Abyssal Alliance, you'll need at least 2 Navy gens.

So, for the endgame what would be the recommended lineup? How many generals of each type There are 6 Gens that you can deploy in the modern war campaign. I used 3 tanks 2 arty and 1 Navy/ Air Gen (if there's only land unit). At least 4 Gens are equipped with Max Rumor. Guderian, Rommel, Roko, Konev, Leeb, Dönitz/Dowding were my lineup to finish the scenario.
