Yea , so according to mr " godly logic " runstedt , ushijima is a " GOoD LiGhT ArTy " gen but ushijima is trash at arty ngl 1. This guy only have 2 stars arty ( same like yamashita ) and with that tiny little damage (even crowd tactics ) , he can do crap 2. Let take a look at his skills 1. Scout : uhm... this skill suck if u have high tech ( u must have high tech) 2 Crowd tactics : decent skills but not really good 3. Desperate : kinda decent tank skills but arty ( even heavy one) have tiny little health and can quiclky killed so this skills trash at light arty Conclusion :tiny damage , trash skills Go have badoglio and leeb instead For runstedt : stop screaming lime this gen is a god OoOooOOofF. The thing is, rather than a necessarily "good" light Arty gen, he is rather your only option for a third Arty gen. Scout IMO on artillery, while not good, pairs well with Crowd Tactics and Desperate. If you are being hit, you will lose stacks, have to regain them, and will lose XP in the process. Therefore, when paired with the other two, it rises above trash into "collecting dust, but we still have it because we might need it sometime in the future". His skills individually may be poor, but together, together they can rise up, and fulfill their dreams. As for the nickname? That's my new status. Ushijima your only third option? lol. Bock exists. Leadership is the best survivability skill. Ushijima has no output skills! (Crowd Tactics doesn't count. It only affects the troops in his proximity, making everyone a Campioni at best). I am thinking of a few more artillery options, but you really don't need more than two artillery generals. From my experience, most axis missions require speed and optimized armor, while the Allied missions require a slower, more defensive approach. That makes Konev, Govorov, and Chuikov worthwhile purchases, while Rommel, Guderian, and Yamashita are the most worthwhile for Axis.

In here, it is an extremely powerful Damage skill. He is also a strong infantry.

Ok guys, we all(or majority) know that Ushijima is a bad general. Rundstedt finds him a good general and that's fine, he wont change his mind about Ushi and that's also fine. This discussion against Rundstedt OPINION has no point.

Just to add something for any reader. In this game the medals are not a problem, there is no skills or ranks to upgrade, the only thing you can do whit medals is buy gens. So you better go for specialist generals than hybrids, get the best generals in each role, either inf, art, tank, navy or air.

Why does Ushi skill is totally different from Kuri's skill since both were famous for their defense (Iwo Jima and Okinawa). Also why doesn't he get either Bayonet charge or Samurai since both are essential skill for IJA General.

It only give u 10 damage ( bayonet charge 12 ) and u need allies to be near u to activate ( bayonets charge give perma 12 damage ) and most of generals have bayonet charge are infantry gens ( kuri , yamashita ) so no need of ulitity 2. Good inf ? Desperate wont down much morale and go completly useless when enemies are ranged ( heavy tank , land fort inf , arty) and scout trash at inf

About your claim that you need Allies nearby, I agree. You should never put a general by himself, for obvious reasons. I don't understand the second clause. Desperate doesn't if you're not fighting a single-range general, which, although admittedly situational, still saves a ton of HP. Scout is good on units that need to consistently be fixed.

No, for CT to work, you must have more stack on your general than the person you are fighting against. As for the second point, we have made up our minds and dug our trenches.

Using Model, A defensive infantry general with max tech for my time, he died in 3 turns in a siege. With air support. So we can see that Ushi will do the same. And 10 damage, even with counter-attacks, is trash compared to Kuri's stable 12 damage anyways. He also has dedicated infantry skills, meaning if CT is better than BC, you win this battle while you lose the war in the skills department.

Makes the game more fun, but look at Grant, Hotzendorf, and McClellan in EW6: 1914.

McClellan was an OP general, if a poor field commander, Hotzendorf just didn't understand the limitations of his army, just like good old John Marston, and Grant? Well, he's a strong Free infantry, even if he should be better.
