Sun LR is a very underrated general imo. That’s because
1. He is very fast. 4 stars of movement is amazing
2. He has a very good skill combination. Raider + Bayonet Charge + Max Jungle fighting is a very good combination, even if bayonet charge is at lvl 1 it still helps.
3. Jungle tiles are very common.
4. When on jungle tiles, Sun LR takes -20% damage from tanks and -10% damage from artillery. Meaning he can potentially be a very strong tank destroyer on jungle tiles thanks to raider and the terrain bonus.
5. He has very high output. 3 stars + 20 damage is way higher than yamashita or mannerheim can ever reach. His output is only second to vasilevsky. But vasilevsky lacks his speed and raider.
6. He is cheap and can be used on other units such as super tank or artillery.

1. L Colonel. That's not enough for an infantry general.
2. Aliens aren't tanks.
3. Damage is pretty much the only thing that matters against aliens for an infantry general.
There really isn't much notable stuff against humans except Save Marshal Timoshenko.

We only buy infantry generals on Rescue the Ally 6, but you do not need too much mobility there. Aliens? Motorized infantry outclasses the commando because of grenades and mobility and they have the same health and damage output, if you are to use an infantry general. You don't want to march a very mobile infantry general deep into the alien cluster only by himself since the motorized infantry and other units cannot catch up. 2. Yes, Sun L.R. has good output, but his health makes him suffer the same problem as Kuribayashi. They can only stab four times on average with their health. 3. We do not use him on tanks or artillery. His health still remains a problem, especially his output does not match Govorov's or Vatutin's. 4. You know what else is underrated? Marshal Zhu De for only 1990 who does a similar role with Konev and even Yamashita (except for mobility) as an infantry general. |

Well I never really cared about Aliens tbh. Its not that hard as you have nukes and can spam field artillery.
I care more about Cold War personally because it is funner

I care more about Cold War personally because it is funner Alien campaigns and conquests are two whole different stories. If your focus is only on humans, then there are some generals you can get creative on. |
