If I don't have many generals, is it worth it for me to improve the ones I already have?

If I don't have many generals, is it worth it for me to improve the ones I already have? IMO, you should have a 3-2-1 with at least one Navy hybrid before you start upgrading using medals.

I agree with Gerd von Rundstedt, that you should get most of your gens before upgrading. Personally, I got all my gens before upgrading any of them. Although, with this new update medals are no longer a problem so you can go ahead and max all your gens if you want to.

Agree with the comment on getting all endgame gens first. Disagree with the 3-2-1 with navy hybrid recommendation. The navy hybrid role can be left to Commander and Pompey to fulfil due to their 7* navy potential. You don't really need a dedicated gen like Cleopatra or Agrippa for combat unless the naval/amphibious portions of Expedition is driving you insane. 2-2-2 is more realistic since we are usually given two of each in campaigns or we will find opportunities to use such a formation. This excludes your Commander since he can be built in different ways for different players. I went for 3-3-3, but ignored Cleopatra and Agrippa until I set up my 4-4-4 lineup, so that I collected the best for each class.

What's the easiest way to get medals? I already finished all of the Decisive Battles and was able to get 2 more generals (Arminius and Mith) but now I want to buy items like Golden Spear and it seems like there is no way for me to get 435 medals easily...

How so? You can refresh any Decisive battle you like twice per day and collect medals again. Plus there are 3 commercials (guaranteed 36 medals if you already have 99k gold) and 8 daily tasks (celebrations etc) refreshed twice per day. It is huge amount of medals, to tell the truth...

You can reset Decisive Battles twice a day. I recommend resetting the hardest Decisive Battle you can beat for the maximum amount of medals. Also, you can get medals from ads and daily missions.
