So I just came to Pacific 42 and was wondering, which general should I get? I have all free generals + Guderian and Leeb. Should I get Roko? Or Donitz? I don't have an inf general so...Yamashita? Macarthur?

Well if you have high naval tech then you dont have to buy a navy generals, but if not then buy navy gen depend on your inf gen (For Axis side) if you have Rundstedt buy Nagumo, if you buy Yamashita buy Donitz,. Usually allies mission are easier than axis so its better to buy Axis gen until you reach North africa where you will start to buy a allied general Usualy cunningham done his job well so you probably will start buying allies naval gen on pacific 1945

You don't need a naval gen until 1945 or the Challenge missions. MacArthur or Rokossovsky/Patton or both may do for the Allies while Yamashita/Rundstedt or both should suffice for the Axis.

Yeah allies doesn't need a navy gen till 1945, so McArthur for allies. Axis campaigns are harder so Donitz isn't a bad idea, but still the safe choice is Yamashita.

Plus, you can somewhat make up for this using your ground troops since they can be used to attack nearby ships in certain campaigns. Whenever carriers are available, they're one of your most important assets so air power further balances out the lack of naval firepower.
