I thought I would chip in and do my part in filling the EW4 library:
Return To The Rhine
This one is quite annoying, as your troops suck, and Brussels is far fetched, so here is how I did it.
Destination: Brussels
Franqeumont sucks, and Johann I is OK, but that is irrelevant, for they will both be going to Brussels. Attack the town north of Weilburg (weโll call it Wiesbaden), with all of your north and central forces. In the next round, the massive amount of French infantry will throw their weight on Johann I (Franquemont will go with him). He can handle it. This storm will carry on for two rounds at most, and eventually the path will be sort of clear to Brussels. The reason I say โsort of clear,โ is that there is a light artillery that sits in Verdun, as well as a Dutch coastal fort, and another French fort, and there is nothing you can do about it if you donโt want to waste several rounds and both of your generals killing them. Kill the light infantry in Brussels, and occupy it. You will need both your generals, (believe me, I tried the alternatives), for that quick victory you are hoping for.
Munich, and Moreau
You only need two units to capture Munich: The light cavalry and light artillery in the south. Keep the cavalry out of range of the fort, and you are guaranteed Munich. Holding Munich, is the hard part. At this point, Moreau will smell something amiss, and come through Switzerland to find out whatโs wrong. The unit in the city under attack from Moreau must have substantial health, or the fort can easily kill, and Moreau can easily occupy. Killing Moreau is not the priority. The priority is to keep him busy so Weilburg is undefended.
The Main Front
Upgrade Frankfurt and build a double line infantry there on the first round. After you have safely escorted Johann and Franquemont past the front line, take a breather, an kill the stragglers. In a few rounds a Dutch light cav and line infantry will be heading towards you, and threatening Oldenburg and Brunswick. Build a single militia/line infantry in Oldenburg, and retreat your most damaged unit to Brunswick. At this time, Vandamme should be gone, and you can safely proceed to Weilburg. Capture the city quickly. I built about 3 units throughout this whole thing (discounting the cannon fodder in Munich): Two double line infantries from Frankfurt, and one single line infantry in Oldenburg.
