Oh boy, shooting and archery was a bummer for us. But our men's doubles team just beat the third seed in Badminton and won 3-2 against New Zealand in Hockey...
A silver in the first day in weightlifting! Yaay!

1 from boxing (Amit Panghal), 1 from javelin (Neeraj chopra), 1 from Hockey, 1 from Wrestling (Bajrang Punia), 1 from Badminton, 5 from Shooting (Haha joke), but at least 3 from shooting and 1 outside chance in archery. A few unexpected ones... I know it's highly optimistic. How many are you expecting from your country? There's a chance in table tennis too. |

Yeah, Manika Batra is looking confidence and yesterday's match will give her confidence in a gloomy day (1-7 !?) But she says that unless her coach is allowed in matches, she might lose out on a medal... |

My country got a bronze medal from men's swimming a couple of days ago. The guy first broke the national record in the qualifying round and then broke the record again with a second in the final.

Yes and apart from that, shooting, archery, boxing, badminton were disappointing. We had the largest shooting contingent, but 0 medals. World No. 1 in Archery (Deepika) , but 0 again. Few capable boxers, 0 medals. Men's doubles and P.V. Sindhu in Badminton, but only a shot for just 1 bronze. Only hope now left is Men's Hockey and Wrestling. Apart from that, there was a lot of hype that we might get 10 medals or more. A silver in the first day seemed to justify that. But just 1 until now  |
