As I'm going through the challenge mode, there are times I want to have infantry that will have good attack against artillery.
But I only see damage bonuses against infantry or armor. Is artillery considered armor?

No, it isn't. Artillery is artillery.
You can take a look at the Wiking from Axis side and the Suwalska Calvary from the allied side to see effects they have on artillery.

Don't forget Mortar troops like Guerilla.

Don't forget Mortar troops like Guerilla. I guess it's because we don't deploy mortars that often? The above two are more favoured on the battlefield.

Mortar troops kinda have a bad ability. Ignoring 2 defense from a building isn't very great when compared with the other abilities.

How is mortar good vs artillery? Usually they are in the open

Let's assume the artillery is sitting in a city center for +2 defense. Let's also assume the artillery has a base of 3 defense (1941 desert). Then, you will do ~7% more damage using the mortar by ignoring the 2 defense. 7% is pretty minuscule when compared with other special forces.

Don't forget, your guerilla is getting 25% damage reduction from the artillery. Now, apart from the wiking, what would you use against this artillery in a city centre to get more than 7% additional damage?

Don't forget, your guerilla is getting 25% damage reduction from the artillery. Now, apart from the wiking, what would you use against this artillery in a city centre to get more than 7% additional damage? My Yamashita on a 3-stack infantry on a plain in challenge mode has 51-58 attack. I only have lvl 2 inf tech so let's round up to an average of 60 attack. Then, with non-promoted max level guerilla you get +6 attack. With calvary you get +10 attack. Then, calvary gives 6% more damage (when not in buildings) and guerilla gives ~+1% damage when in a city center/trench. When in an airport/suburban area, calvary has an advantage of ~2% damage. Things I did not consider: Promotion gives +6 attack which changes the 6% more damage to ~5.5% more damage for calvary which is pretty negligible. With a 4-stack infantry the attack goes up by 2-3 which is also negligible. This plus promotion will change 6% to ~5.3%. With challenge level 9 tech enemies, artillery's base defense goes up by 1 to a total of 4. This means that guerilla's advantage in the city is lowered by ~0.7% As you can see, these few things I didn't consider pretty much balance each other out. All in all, I would say calvary has a very slight advantage in damage, but is the superior pick overall because of extra damage to infantry and more speed.
