Alright, the rule here is that I cannot get a commonly loved gen. Let's go! First gens are Pedius and Sertorius, Sertorius for reasons, and Pedius because he has Rumor, and Effectively level 3 Torch. My commander is a sort of Scipio of infantry with Shield Wall, InfCom, Counterattack, and Street Fighting.

Okay, Sertorius is too well liked, (aka not hated), so I will go with a different man: Ariovistus. "What? He's terrible!" Exactly . He has Infantry Commander, Torch, Legatus, 8 stars, and a double banner, but he also has Destroy, perhaps the worst skill in the game. In addition, his talent isn't the best. But this is why people like me play games: to push frontiers.

I decided that, instead of gens that aren't universally loved, I get gens that are universally hated. I had to sell Pedius then. Next on my List: Orodes II. All enemy War Gear is doomed.

As in gens that, Friedrich, make Surena and Wei look Overpowered.

Has the game really gotten so easy that you can just buy the worst generals? Also you should give your commander Formation, Breakthrough, Marksman and Torch.

Anyway, y'all are going (in my delusions) to want to hear my arguments for why these guys are passable, so here goes.
Ariovistus:
- 8 stars: As good as anyone.
- Legatus: Passable
- Infantry Commander: Only level one, but still great.
- Torch: Reasonably strong skill, but inconsistent.
- Destroy: Usually Terrible, but keep in Mind I have Orodes and am planning on getting Maroboduus, so together they will wreck any war gear. In addition, he gets a double banner, so...
- Scare: Okay, he can be equipped with Crossbow and all enemies will fear him.
- All in all: a passable general who is rightly never bought, because his competition is so much better.
Orodes:
- 7 stars in Infantry, six in Cavalry: Bad Cav stars, his inf stars are good, Hybrid.
- Brave: Okay, I suppose. It gives him the highest crit rate in the game. Can trigger it almost all the time, but it requires tricky positioning.
- Assault: OP for his Cavalry, trash for his Infantry.
- Street Fighting: IMO the best skill in the game, good for both sieging cities, and defending them.
- Destroy: Bad, but okay with Ariovistus and Maroboduus.
- All in All: A good Cavalry, not Infantry though, for a cheap price. Get him if you want a significant upgrade from Pacorus but you don't want to spend on Scipio yet.

No, but I did trade InfCom for Hide, so I can both give him a double Banner, and for Additional survivability. Also, it's easier on my medal supply.

But medals should not be a problem. I can easily get 150-200 medals per day from farming (although I'm too lazy to do it at the moment) which is enough for me to buy pretty much anything in the game in 3 days.

For free player, you can only farm maximum about 200 medals per day (ads 36, battle 100 and maximum 80 from missions).

Might restart it sometime though.

Surena and Scipio aren't popular, but they can possibly stand in as well.

I real life Lucullus was an excellent general who simply crushed Mithridates and his father in law Tigranes. Brilliant examples of Roman victories against heavy cavalry. Unfortunately his skills in GCR are rather unimaginative...
