I've recently purchased Murat after first getting Dabroski and an Ambulance, and I'm starting to build back my medal stash. I've mostly focused on non-medal upgrades for my generals, and most all of those only on my endgame team, so I think I'm being fairly smart with my resources, but now I'm at a bit of a crossroads. Frankly the Ambulance is super helpful, so I'm considering a second one of those, but Messenna or Mahmud II are both very tempting, they will just take a bit longer to get to. I guess there are probably multiple valid paths to reach a good destination here, but what are your ideas?
Thanks,

Ambulance of course helps, but nothing beats getting one of the best generals in the game. Also if you feel like medals could be a problem, you could try getting some of the discounted generals like Lannes instead of Massena, and John instead of Mahmud II and then buy Ambulance. But I would defintely recommend getting Massena, he is a game changer and can really help in all parts of the game

You can look up how, but don't need any generals, but a cavalry and infantry general are recommended. For 50 medals in 20 minutes you can grind for Massena and start doing a campaign. Get healing items, get some stat increasing items.

Thanks for the advice! I've been lurking on the forums for a bit, so I do know about grinding Netherlands, and now Boston campaign as well, but I just don't have a ton of extra time to devote to that, I'm afraid. I guess you could call me a dedicated casual? Anyway, I will definitely grind when I can manage it, I just want to spend as much of my time playing the main game as possible, so I'm trying to be goal-oriented.
With such a strong recommendation, Messena might be the way to go, but I'm also interested in how other people have structured their purchases as far as generals/items/upgrades.
I guess for now I'll be going for something like: 1-2 Generals --> 1 healing item, and save most of my major upgrades for later. That way I can build a team as quickly as possible and get them building exp.
Thanks,

Thanks, If you are not that interested in grinding, I would recommend doing missions, they can usually get you 20-30 medals every 6 hours and at higher levels they can get like 60 medals every 6 hours. Also for Netherlands, the first time you do it, you will get a decent chunk of medals as it is a one-star country. Overall, I would recommend, Getting Massena and Karl, and if you want after that, you could buy some discount generals of other types as they are also quite good.
