I think there is something that people significantly overrated in this game: stars. They think a gen is made and braid (?) Over these stars. However, there is another aspect to a gen, their rank. This is massively important, and really opens up possibilities like Montgomery or (dare I say it) Friedrich “Fried Rice” Paulus.

Stars are most important, because GoG classic and GoG Pacific are not about survival but about killing. How about to complete one of them first with Montgomery or Paulus Then it will be a sound advice with practical evidence. Otherwise it is rather misleading...

I am not a very good player at all, although I made it to Eastern Front with Dietrich. Then I deleted the game, like all others... no more ET for me.

In chess they say that our defeats are more important than our victories. They tell more about our weaknesses than our victories. The most important thing is not to make the same error again and again. We grow as players as well as characters when we see our own mistakes and overcome them. Just don't try to cover everything. Choose only one game and put all of your efforts into it. The results will be more than rewarding, imo. A single game will not hurt your RL. And it won't be exhausting to play with commitment.

stoic, I am able to play Classic for 30 minutes a day fr the rest of the school year, and I have found an amazing farming Mission. Defense of Britain Goering. Just hold, and you can make 50 medals in a hundred turns.

Just hold, and you can make 50 medals in a hundred turns. Almost all defensive missions when we are attacked from the sea have an excellent farming potential. I don't even try to complete a farming mission. I just reload a save when a heavy fighting already began and play it for 10-12 turns. But it is extremely difficult to beat later campaigns if your historic general is not a tank general, notwithstanding how hard you are trying. I want to stress the word "extremely". Probably the only one non-tank general with whom it is possible to beat all missions with 5 stars is Zhukov (and, maybe, Manstein). The rest is rather limited to several tank generals - Rommel, Vatutin, Guderian. I would be very surprised if someone used another name and was successful to the end. GoG Classic and GoG Pacific are two most difficult ET games. A real challenge to your brain. To beat them both was a crown achievement of my career as a player. Moreover they can teach us one important lesson (even important in RL). Namely to follow your plan no matter what... Without deviation, frustration and mood changes. No excuses, if you lost then your plan was wrong, but even so I was sure I've done my best. My first run was with Govorov and I lost, though I tried really hard.

I don't have the game at the moment, don't remember his price, stars and rank.

I'm going to see if I can grind for a Marshal. If not, Messe gets in the game until I can. If I can, then it'll be Goering or Zhukov. Ike is too spread out. Zhukov has great stats and good stars. Goering is cheaper and worse, but has an elusive fourth star, while being decent in Combat. Messe, however, is cheap(er), while still having great stats and stars.

I don't have the game at the moment, don't remember his price, stars and rank. 20 medals cheaper than Guderian, minus an inf star.
