Perfect clear on my first attempt. This followed my replay of its "normal" counterparts in 1942 and 1945.
Gens used: Kesselring, Yamashita, MacArthur, Leeb, Rommel, Govorov, Cunningham and Ozawa.
It's a WIP. Even if it isn't, please don't quote the entire post because it will be / is very long.
Ironically, this battle is decided firstly by the fighting on and around the main island itself and secondly by the naval battles raging off the coast.
Upon devastating the vanguard fleets and landing ships, more waves of ships will sail to engage you. This will enable you to attack key targets and enemy ships using ships at largely stationary positions as well as troops on the island itself.
Due to an astounding large number of carriers used, you MUST spam the deployment of AA Special Forces as much as possible. This is especially so because the enemy carriers seem to target troops acting as garrisons in the city, its adjacent facilities and grounded troops.
