In the American campaign I have been having a little trouble, especially with this one as I don't have any generals who are strong at navy. Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

Oh I hated this level. I can't remember what I did. I have restarted my game so I don't have access to that level again yet. Maybe kanue or even saltin can help. |

Moreau it's the one where you are the Americans with Jackson and Hull defend the coastline ports from France. It has a bonus objective which is some general in the back. It's pretty hard.

Tip: do some quick American conquests and get Kate. Or grind for a good navy general. I completed the mission with only Kate, 2 calvary generals (Ney and Golitsyn) and 2 artillery generals (Sophia and Maramont) and Arnold. Result: 5 stars
Without Kate or a navy general, the key is to spam the cheapest boat over and over again. Use Arnold or a good business tradesman to trade mechanic stuff for gold. The cheap ships are like 100 gold and 15 mechanic stuff so gold is priority. Use them to attack normal ships, NEVER generals.
Begin the campaign on defense, the French will rush you but the cannons will get some down. Don't attack English Don't focus your attack on the special general near Florida, he's not the objective. Put a artillery general on the small artillery to bring down the landing party only. Avoid the navy man.
Other than that, take down the normal ships and spam the cheap ships. Morale is key in sea battles so flanking and surrounding is the best way to go. Let the French take a port when you cant defend all of them, you'll get it back.
You'll really want Kate or a navy general because the March on Britain and Peninsula Landings coming up will require one. |

This is the only mission that I find putting a general in coastal fort useful. I put Fatima and Sakurako on two of my coastal fort. They made quite a big damage to ships.

Thank you for the advice, I was able to get 4 stars plus the bonus mission even without Kate but I will grind it out now to get her for the British campaign later.
