I have Golitsyn and Dobeln. I want another general and for the sake of argument, let's say the general must be tier 2. Who should I choose?

Scharnhorst.

Isabella out of the package technically also qualifies, but she can't directly be bought with Medal.

What about some sort of hybrid/fort cracking general? If I get one, it probably will be Scharnhorst, but is he good at cracking forts and attacking cities like Ney or Sulkowski?

By getting Golitsyn and Dobeln, all you need is artillery. If you have the patience you can totally make Ney an artillery general. Artillery units have bonus against forts anyway. The only fort cracker alternative I can think of is Drummond, who is only good at cracking forts. Ushakov or Collingwood are potential picks for hybrid.

Well, update: I did buy Scharnhorst, and won one conquest in 60 or so turns, and won Sophia. I did not recruit Sophia as of now, and I wanted to ask you guys: can I win Isabella with Golitsyn and Dobeln (both 74 health) and Scharnhorst (just 44 health)? If I can't, I'll probably recruit Sophia and regroup Scharnhorst and Gazan (who is in market) into Sophia

And to be honest, as far as getting hybrid goes, I might just use the last slot when I get Lan and Isabella and other princess for, let's say Ushakov, who doesnt need to be regrouped and can be useful in SNS

thanks! I find HRE conquest very boring as well, so there is no doubt I'll try this.

thanks! I find HRE conquest very boring as well, so there is no doubt I'll try this. I want to emphasize again that this guide involves some luck - 1. Denmark should severely weaken Sweden. 2. Ushakov and Wilhelm III shouldn't attack on Copenhagen on the same time. 3. Hotze should die on his own. There are some other small variables, but these are the major ones. Once finished, remember to save your game, train your generals to level 10 and try again for a higher score. You need to complete the first 2 campaigns also. At least, most of them.

Well, I completed campaigns (just didn't done the last gold mission in IE, but it said that I have finished campaign) Now just luck to be on my side, I shall win Isabella!
