I only have 5 slots left for my generals and 4 when i unlock Falsen, well anyways, which generals should I hire, and how many for each class (i.e infantry, artillery, cavalry, navy). is it even worth it to buy a naval admiral during the end of the French Eagle Campaign and should I dismiss the 3 other free generals (Jourdan, Gates, Clinton) for extra space. Oh yeah also I can't buy more slots and IAP Generals

Murat / Massena, then vice versa, but investing in Murat first will bring greater balance to your team and maximise its potential slightly earlier. Followed by Karl, Mahmud II, Lan and Alexander I. The 3 cav - 2 inf - 2 arty basic lineup should suffice for the most part. This assumes that Jourdan and Karl + Massena on Grenadiers are enough for cracking forts and cities until you can afford Mahmud.
Keep the free gens for now until you run out of space, but don't upgrade them unless they purely require coins. IIRC, Jourdan is the strongest free gen so save him for as long as possible.
You'll notice the presence of aura Commander skills because their aura and self-boosting effects increase the output of respective units / gens greatly. The effects also stack which makes these skills that much more worth it.
As for a navy gen, I guess Falsen and navy tech upgrades should suffice for the most part. If you are considering taking on the Crimean War challenge series, you may want Nelson or Sakurako. For now, just keep Falsen as your weak, free navy gen.

One more question, who is more cost-effecient, Mahmud or Alexander? Also how long will that plan take?

Mahmud II's Desert Fighting will probably not be used, with some exceptions, but he still performs better than Alexander I overall. If you want cost efficiency, technically Alexander may be the better?
This plan will span your entire EW6: 1804 career, not including the grind to build up your gens for Crimean War and some endgame Campaigns. I left out the bit on upgrading skills, which should come hand in hand with your gen investments.

Oh yeah also I can't buy more slots and IAP Generals I like Nobunaga Oda 's plan, but personally I would go for Massena first because the trek to 2300 medals with only 3/4 generals is pretty hard. I say it isn't worth it to buy a naval general yet. Yet being key, as I would probably go for one maybe at the Crimean War challenges. Beyond that, I recommend a balanced 2-2-2-2 lineup if you are new or just want a balanced team, but personally I'm going for the 2-3-2-1, as admirals are probably not needed as much as other units, and are only needed for a select few missions, which land generals with high BA can cover. I would recommend Massena, Karl, Barclay/Washington as 3rd, Murat, Dabrowski, and Lan as 3rd, Mahmud, Alexander/John for 2nd, and Nelson, Sakurako as 2nd, though I don't recommend her.

Thanks for the suggestion. How do I unlock the Crimean War Challenges tho Keep playing. You'll see Challenge series emerge one after the other as you clear Campaigns.

Oh yeah also I can't buy more slots and IAP Generals Personally, keep in mind i player ew6: 1804 when medals were hard to get. I would first get Massena because he is relatively cheap at 1300 and can get you through the french eagle and many more campaigns. I would get Nelson as an admiral, but get him towards the end as he is only useful later on in the game. Also if you want, I would capitalize on the discounted generals like Bagration, John, and Lannes because they are cheap at 1000 medals f you can't complete all the levels. I would say, have Massena and Karl for sure. Murat is supposedly good, I haven't used him actually. Nelson as he is the best naval general by far. Although I haven't used any of these generals, I would recommend getting Barclay if you like infantry and want to spend, Lannes as an effective cheaper option. Bagration as a cheap option, or you can get Davout or Dabrowski, and John as a cheap option, or you can get Alexander or Mahmud. Also keep in mind, you do not need to spend all your medals on generals as equipment like Ambulance, and the guns which give like 30+ specialized boost and 10+ battle ability boost can make a good and cheap general as good as an amazing general. So if you prefer, you could buy someone like Lannes instead of Barclay and with the medals saved, buy good equipment which will make him better than Barclay.
