Hello, I am currently doing pacific 1942 and i need a good general setup for the campaign and beyond. For the axis i got ozawa, guderian, student and bock. For the allies i have arnold, cunningham, tassigny and timoshenko (and konev but i dont have the space to use him). I have ~1500 medals. My axis general setup needs a good arty gen and a better air gen and my allies setup needs better gens. What should i do with my medals? I need advice for what generals i should get to balance my lineup.

Explanation: Student is trash when not a paratrooper, and Konev sucks. You have Tassigny though, who I consider the the the 3rd best Allied inf. general. A bit defensive, but stil good. So you don't need MacArthur for awhile. Yamashita is basically a Pacific 1942 must, if you don't need him, then you might be one of the best players. Don't try that though. Back to the plan: If you have some spare medals, get a navy general. for the Allies first, then for the Axis. Hailstone a Navy only battle IIRC. Before Leeb.

If your naval tech is high level 3 or above then i suggest Yamashita or Rundstedt, if no buy Navy general Nagumo or Donitz. Your allies Don't need anymore general until 1941 NA. Start buy Mac at NA (North Africa)

I got yamashita and nimitz. I will buy leeb next and then macarthur. Why Nimitz ? Anyway Leeb is a must have since Leeb + Elefant= EXPLOSION

Missed my chance for my obligatory warning: You don't need additional naval gens unless you're playing Elite / Challenge mode.
Allies: Konev is a subpar buy. Getting a stronger tank gen like Patton (tanks) or any of your preferred heavy tank gens (Rokossovsky, Monty or Vatutin) is ideal, followed by Govorov and a 2nd inf gen (MacArthur / Slim).
Axis: Leeb and Yamashita, especially Leeb. Student is an average buy, unless well supported as a paratrooper. Rommel is next followed by Rundstedt (pure inf) / Kesselring (inf-air hybrid).

Guderian is a pretty good axis tank gen.
