I really don't understand why ET can't hire decent English translators. There are plenty respectable online services. Probably ET is not a big company, but a good English translation definitely won't ruin their budget.

Probably an inconsistency stemming from a mistranslation that went unnoticed. The sentence means that they use some form of transport or "carriers" or "transport aircraft" to get airborne from an airport.
Never really paid much attention to the description so it didn't confuse me.
