That is the question, because I'd have to sell one of my team in order to make room for the new guy if there were no additional slots Now we can have 20 plus generals recruitable

Now it's time to contemplate what do we need them for I hope they will increase the number of generals in future campaigns.

Now it's time to contemplate what do we need them for I hope they will increase the number of generals in future campaigns. Just for fun (and maybe for someone who starts a new game and always wants to get the maximum amount of medals out of every senate mission + get all achievement rewards)
This is one (probably not the only) combination that includes every talent and every skill twice (some senate missions go above lv5 for skills) and also includes generals whose purchase yields purple gem rewards. The Commander may choose any skill. Pretty strong line up but no Commius, Scipio, Bato, Tiberius, Burebista, Labienus, Ariovistus, Tigranes II,...
the 4 IAP generals (assuming they get their own slot?) plus
1 Pompey 2 Crassus 3 Vercingetorix 4 Belisarius 5 Anthony 6 Arminius 7 Huo 8 Li 9 Wei 10 Lepidus 11 Mithridates VI
12 Octavian 13 Drusus 14 Cleopatra 15 Agrippa 16 Achillas 17 Crixus 18 Cicero 19 Sextus Pompey
20 Mandubracius 21 Sertorius 22 Cassius 23 Phraates IV
24 Maroboduus 25 Ptolemy 26 Surena 27 Commander

It is not the whole story. After fully upgrading his banner Attila will get a second talent - Plunder. It is the same OP Plunder from EW5.
