Moderator Nobunaga Oda's comments:This is a merger containing posts from all discovered threads on this mission. There may be posts with links, please ignore them. All the guides are located here. There are a few guides to look at here, do take your time. Good luck, Commanders!
Finally! I just beat the battle of Stalingrad with the same units and generals (rumor not upgraded yet) but with a better strategy and I came across another really weird challenge like the one before. This looks like mission impossible or something except that all these defenses are just to protect 2 nameless cities and 1 farm, looks like the kind of thing you see protecting Moscow or Berlin. Guess what happened because its completely RIDICULOUS! I mean look at how much health that bunker has, this is the exercise in Budapest and it is much harder than I expected because you are not allowed to use generals for this challenge so my infantry general Runstedt can only watch his troops get wrecked by a pillbox. Yes I did it! This was my 3rd attempt and I got my revenge after failing twice and losing all 12 of my mechanized infantry units, the next challenge is the Battle of Kursk and it looks quite tough. It is similar to the Battle of Stalingrad except that you do not have to destroy all the enemy units but capture the 3 cities which are heavily defended and it offers 150 medals instead of 125. Can someone recommend me a strategy to beating this challenge and any help is appreciated.

If you need help on a stage which we do not have guides for, you can create new threads to request for help. That way, it's much easier for future readers to find it.
This looks like a East to West direction type of reverse Battle of Kiev (the Domination battle).
Hit Manstein's allies in the rear and unleash your troops on him from his unguarded rear. If you still feel insecure, use your RAs' splash dmg to attack enemy troops stationed next to bunkers.
Have at least one super arty, one 3X RA, one super tank and one 3X heavy tank on your vanguard for each of your two pincers. Your remaining population should have 3X medium tanks, 3X howitzers and so on.
Avoid using inf. They are weak, vulnerable and not well suited.

Personally I like to splash the enemy using RAs by targeting the bunkers. It doesn't let the enemy retaliate. Go for a sandwich attack. Destroy the top and bottom flanks first, and then go for Manstein as Nobunaga Oda said.

As always, use super units to take out units one by one and crush them. Take out strongholds first.

pleasehelpme, first I want you to look at those bunkers with double shields. They may look like enemy units, but they are in fact your friends (not the land forts pls don't target those). Lure some of the enemy units out using RAs by targeting the bunkers and damaging enemy tanks with splash damage. Run back to your cities when they come and destroy them when they get close. After destroying them, keep letting your artillery target the bunkers because why not, you don't want them doing unnecessary damage to your tanks later on. Meanwhile, I want you to take the rest of your artillery and all your tanks, split them between north and south, and target the two cities there first. Once you destroy them, lure Manstein's guard troops out without getting in range of Manstein, and destroy them. Then surround Manstein with your 200 IQ op generals and destroy him.

anyone else find this challenge almost impossible due to manstein and the enemy firepower Here's a guide: european-war-4.boards.net/thread/12818/battle-kursk-domination-missionI think you need to upgrade your tech even more as well as invest in gens, both new and old. Who do you have? Strategy wise, it's explained in the thread^^. Just avoid a frontal assault, attack the rear cites and hit Manstein from the back.

Konev and Guderian also both have explosives and guderian has lvl 2 a. assault and lvl 3 blitzkrieg That sounds like a team that is strong enough. Try the encirclement strategy and see if it works. I recommend pairing Guderian with Nimitz while Messe and Komev can takes the other pincer.

I tried it a while ago and it wasn't even that hard. I don't think I had Rommel or Nimitz. So I only had Manstein, Guderian, Leeb and Konev. I made good progress until the time came that I need to take out the Coastal Artillery which it has over 1000 hp. That's really going to stomp you hard if you don't have explosives.
