EW6: 1804. The rest of the games seem hard.

World Conqueror 3, best easytech game after Parking Stars and WC4 Not too hard, but the tabletop farming in WC3 is excruciating. I get more frustrated with WC3's Conquest than EW4's for some reason, despite their overlapping shortcomings. EW4 is a classic, but its shortcomings are almost immediately noticeable. A relatively easy entry into ET's early modern era of games. Wooing the Princesses, specifically Lan and Victoria, is THE key obstacle to overcome if you want to "finish" the game in its entirety which feels easier to accomplish than EW6:1914's hardest modes. (Even though I've yet do accomplish either goal.) EW6:1804 is largely doable, except for the worst of the Italian Unification campaign series and almost the entire Crimean War challenge. If you cleared 1914's History Mode and at least one country of each difficulty in Challenge Conquest, 1804 is a breeze. Play this if you want to enjoy 1914's direct predecessor. EW5 is frustrating for different reasons, but it has become so newbie friendly that it is largely a pleasant walk in the walk. It is also the game that is lauded for allowing almost all types of different lineups except for an arty main or pure <insert any troop class here> lineup. GC:R is the odd and "middle" child combined. Not the easiest to clear, but also not the hardest. More experienced players looking for a different change of pace may enjoy it more than a newbie to ET games because its mechanics are complicated and "different". Also ROME!
GOG2 is P2W if you want perfect clears or even a pass for the last few campaign series. Its revolutionary mechanics largely backfired and the game experience is shaken because these new mechanics require farming under somewhat ridiculous situations. (PVP against P2W players, for example, or practically "P2W" bots.) Thankfully, Daily Rewards can carry the game for F2P players.
GOG1 and GOG1: Pacific are the highly difficult original games of the GOG series and the farming there is pretty horrible as well. Imagine being allowed to deploy one gen and one EC gen in some of the hardest campaigns. Now, stop imagining because that is the reality of the first GOG game(s).

I recommend either EW5 (super easy now, used to be much, much harder) or GOG2, Ironically, also easier now, as hack players have largely disappeared, and you are just stuck with pay players. If you want an EW4 lite, there is 3KC. GCR is good for great gameplay and a nice theme, but a huge selling point is the graphics. These are my favorite games other than GOG3.
