so let talk about samurai :
1 stats : 14 damage , no speed , 4 defense : a really good , balanced stats
2.skills : increase 35% damage to inf , no morale down
a really good special force but why it underrated ?
the reasons is obvious : it get overshadow by it fellow assault troops ,.you use wiking because of inf + arty , you use white death because of ultra killing inf power ( put it on mannerheim and you will see ) but samurai... it work like baby white death + wiking . it have a morale skills but alot of axis generals have samurai skills ( yep , yamashita ) so this skills is kinda useless ( except you use runstedt instead of yama ) . Nothing too special about samurai so that can explain why this sf is forgotten and only use when wiking+white death are dead .

Suwalska is kinda meh . 10 damage and 35% damage to inf + arty tank . Only thing good about it is the speed . baby cossack , nothing else

I havent tried Samurai yet.
But Suwalska good at defending against inf.

I completely agree. I put Wiking/Grenadier on Rundstedt and Samurai on Ushijima, considering that you lose morale when you find enemies.

BTW, thoughts on the Maresal? It has worse stats than Elefant, but is faster, and can absolutely cripple light artillery.

I'll say Maresal better. Karl is slow and the best thing only his AA which isn't really useful since enemy usually send fighter againts your infantry and Tank. Maresal Fast and useful for hunting Artillery (Especially those who use Sexton) but yes very weak damage compared to Karl |

I find the Samurai very situational, like in challenged when one of my infantry generals is trapped in confusion or double low morale and has no SF (similarly used with Patriot)
