Welcome commander, to the second last stage of the allied campaign.
Iwo Jima itself.
The battle went down in history books as a bloody one, with huge losses on both sides.
The iconic image of marines raising the American flag was also taken here.
Thankfully, in this stage, it'll be much easier, especially with your endgame generals and troops.
You'll go through it like a breeze, or rather, a tornado of fire and steel.
Let's get started!
Mission Objectives: Annihilate the Enemy
Sub Mission 1: Protect Smith for 5 turns
Sub Mission 2: Defeat 18 enemy units in 6 turns
Sub Mission 3: Defeat Kuribayashi in 16 turns
Generals Used: Patton (Medium Tank), MacArthur (Infantry), Nimitz (Battleship), Govorov (Heavy artillery), Montgomery (Heavy Tank), Halsey (Aircraft carrier)
Possible Alternatives: Roko (Heavy Tank), Arnold (Aircraft carrier), (Secondary infantry generals)
Battle Flow Brief
Brown Circle: Kuribayashi
Terrain analysis
1. Plenty of cities and factories located across the island
[Good for replenishing our troops, but heavily guarded]
2. Airfields located across northern half of the map
[Allows use of one way paratroopers in later half of game]
3. Many spots to purchase reinforcements
[Flexible timing to purchase reinforcements]
4. Plains located across most of the map
[Allows for quick movement of troops]
5. Long unguarded coastline with coastal towns
[Navy troops with be put into full use with shore bombardment]
6. Moderate amount of fortifications spread around the island
[Scorpion not needed, enemy troops mass around the fortifications]
Overall Strategy: Keep replenishing and recruiting to hold off swarms of enemy troops.

Detailed Breakdown
To start off, just follow the instructions that Nimitz gave you - to destroy artillery in the mountains.
Bombard and attack the ship in port, taking care not to touch the coastline. If one touches the coastline, the landing ships face a hail of fire. Not desirable.
Capture the port with Patton, since we want to use our KV6 and Katyushas against the artillery. MacArthur would most probably get a suwalska calvary and charge right into the battle.
After landing your main troops, use Nimitz and your carrier to support Smith's landing. Nimitz can easily shell out 60 damage to ground troops, use those big guns to pound the defenders. Prioritise the areas around the port.
After clearing the artillery, you'll get allied reinforcements coming in from the west. They'll land and take over the west side of the island. Don't worry about them, they're competent. Take the chance to replenish MacArthur before speeding your troops up to clear the armoured counterattack coming down from the north.
Personally, I'll like to leave an armoured car here for half the game to deal with that random destroyer, but if you want to wipe it out with your main troops, you can do that too. It might cost you a few turns though.
Meanwhile, I'm making use of the time to rush upwards towards the central airport city. It's guarded by a heavy tank, so your heavy artillery should rain fire on it as your KV6 handles the surrounding infantry.
Continue using your Naval forces to bombard and strafe the coastline. With the allies taking the west and your naval forces handling the east, you can freely roll your main force down the center.
Around this time, you might consider using paratroopers towards the western and eastern city to rack up extra income.
Use the central city and factory to fully restore your troops before charging towards the mountains and Kuribayashi. He won't have morale drops and will move to man the artillery fortification, so there's no choice but to charge head on.
Your carriers will be in the vicinity, so there's that option for additional support.
if you want to, you could attack the city first and restack your troops while attacking Kuribayashi.
I let Montgomery do a solo battle with him, which was a waste of my KV6.
The tank formation along the coast might turn and attack you, but your battleship and airstrikes would have weakened them, making them easier to repel.
Move north, and you'll face your final infantry horde. Greet them with your heavy tanks and anti-infantry forces.
Congrats, you've reached the end of the briefing! Take the island quickly and get some rest. The next and final mission will be hell.
Final Notes: My Tech level and special forces are maxed out, so you'll have a slightly different experience. Still, this mission is a relatively easy one, just steamrolling over everyone in your way.
Note 2: I would say "protect your KV6" but that's impossible. The infantry horde will get it sooner or later. Hence, "Protect your KV6 as best as you can"
Note 3: Remember to purchase reinforcements. I was focusing on blitzing through it, but additional troops, especially infantry, will help.
I hope this guide helps if you have any trouble.
