Tried again in rating European national teams. Finland is definitely average nowadays.

Germany right now is kinda like what Italy was in 2018. They have some good young players but they aren't using them cause their manager was still nostalgic about their World Cup run, so they keep putting this super old squad out that's way past their prime

I think Italy is on the cusp of a decline. Quite a few bunch of oldies there.

I think Italy is on the cusp of a decline. Quite a few bunch of oldies there. What do you mean? They just won the Europian Championship with Barella and Chiesa and yes, there are some old guys like Bonucci and Chiellini, but there are alot of young players (Barella, Locatelli, Chiesa, Spinazzola) but more importantly the team is a team.

Jorginho should take over Italy's captainship from Chiellini. He did well for Chelsea, and he is a natural skipper. It wasn't the age of their players that was the problem, either. The only thing that Mancini did for the team was to instill more agression within them, as Barella and Immobile stayed on their half of the pitch for most of the qualifiers they played. This, as well as Southgate's conservatism was England's downfall in the Final. Italy is not going down anytime soon.

Germany right now is kinda like what Italy was in 2018. They have some good young players but they aren't using them cause their manager was still nostalgic about their World Cup run, so they keep putting this super old squad out that's way past their prime Joachim Low promised to resign after the European Cup, and he did. They went into the 2018 World Cup confident of another win, when they lacked players that made Germany shine in 2014 like Ozil, Schweinsteiger, and Klose. When they got their butts kicked by South Korea, so that Mexico can steal the Runner-Up position. After the World Cup, they played with more fear of messing up than skill. Because of this, they were no longer the confident team that pounded Argentina into a fine dust in 2014. Low fired the last few veteran players after the World Cup as well. He paid for it in 2-1 loss against North Macedonia. Kimmich and Muller were immediately reinstated. Low had found a striker with potential in Timo Werner, but it eventually turned out as a lost cause, as Werner was more comfortable in feeding the ball to the striker instead of scoring. Muller had to fill this spot. Meanwhile, the back 4 was a disaster, and Joshua Kimmich had to provide the confidence that the younger players in the back lacked, which Manuel Neuer was dependent on if he was to block goals as good as he did in 2014 and 2016. Germany's problem wasn't having too many oldies, it was having too few. The major difference between the English and the German team was that the Germans didn't have the confidence of 1 or 2 older players like the English did with Raheem Sterling and Harry Kane. The major problem is, that Muller is incredibly old at this point. He played in the 2006 World Cup. When did Messi start as a full pro? 2008-9?
