If you just have Rommel, first of all, good job! To answer you question in terms of priority: 1. Guderian - MT god, and can rival Rommel sometimes. 2. MacArthur - The best Allied general. Need I say more? 3. Yamashita - Though now I believe Rundstedt is better, Yamashita is definitely worthwhile to invest in and will save a hard earned slot in Pacific 1942, as Japanese generals aren't really the best for 1942. 4. Leeb - You will most likely need him sometime in the future, so just get him now. Not a big priority in 1942, but in 1941 Africa, I say you should get him then. 5. Nimitz/Mountbatten - If I had not gotten an Allied admiral, Pacific 1942 would be a lot harder for me. More important than an Axis one as Ozawa does the job well. Could even be in front of Leeb. 6. Donitz/Nagumo - Both are good and have their own pros and cons. If you are planning on having a bigger land team for pesky land-sea operations, Nagumo does save a slot, which in this case would make your life MUCH more easier.

I'll say Yamashita (Fast and high damage)/ Rundstedt (High survivability, damage is medium, and slow)-> Donitz/Nagumo (Both are mostly same)->Leeb. For Allies probably MacArthur. Buy Axis infantry first since Pacific you rely mostly on Infantry

I would get Rundstedt, then Badoglio, then Mac. Next, Montgomery.

Thanks for the praise! To be more precise, I'm on Malayan Campaign and Battle of Midway for both sides respectively. Is this accurate to follow since I have no upgrades on techs and special forces?Since I prefer to test my ability to finish campaigns with minimal upgrades

I would say at the bare minimum Level 2 tech for navy and air would be good, but some would say 3 or 4. This is the point of the game where it gets hard (without Yamashita, Axis Pacific is hell and is basically your "warm up" to 1944), so you should expect to get more generals and higher tech quickly.

A major note: Allied Missions are ridiculously easy after the first mission, so you shouldn't need anyone there.
