Hey guys, I have Pedius, Belisarius and an Infantry Commander, with 165 medals and currently stuck on Battle of Axona. I get how to do it, but my generals always get smashed at Axona (city). I'm starting to wonder if I should just buy a new general, but my medals don't seem to be enough to buy any actually good generals.
Just wondering if there were any good generals at all that would cost 165 medals, or if I should just go for Pacorus (I don't want to cause I already have Belisarius). Do you think I should save my medals for a worthwhile gen, or spend now?

I would recommend Drusus who is very good even without any investments. Just give him a crossbow and he won't let you down.

It is true that out of the package, Drusus performs better, but having the best on hand is still a good outcome.

Drussus is an endgame general like Mithriades and Octavian, so if you buy him first you wont make mistake.

We agree that you may want to get an Archer. Which one is the question. In terms of price, the clear best choice is Cleopatra, the Octavian super lite. Mithridates is Caesar, Octavian is very slightly better. Drusus is in a class of his own, with an incredible skill and Talent, but that's pretty much all he has. Surena is an Octavian lite. Which one shall you choose?

It is true that out of the package, Drusus performs better, but having the best on hand is still a good outcome. Since his Commander is an Infantry general I don't think that hiring Pompey is that urgent in this situation. And all top archers are pretty close to each other with some pros and cons. I think that buying Drusus as our first Archer general is more advantageous because: 1. He is cheaper. And that is still an issue when we only start the game. 2. He is very easy to equip. A simple crossbow will increase his crit rate by another 15 percent. So, it is very easy to achieve 35%-40% crit rate of his attacks without getting access to legendary items. 3. He is very easy to use. You don't need to boost his moral, to find cavalry to attack, to place him in the forest etc. Here is my Drusus. I haven't touched him after I purchased him.
