Greetings commander and welcome to Barbarossa middle.
This map will test your understanding of the game so far, and your ability to manage your troops and cash efficiently.
It is neither easy, nor hard, a taste of what is to come in later final missions.
Here, the cities speak bullets.
Let us roll right into the storm waiting for us!
Mission Objectives: Occupy 5 key areas
Sub Mission 1: Occupy Minsk in 3 turns
Sub Mission 2: Occupy Smolensk in 10 turns
Sub Mission 3: Occupy Tula in 18 turns
Generals Used: Model (Infantry), Bock (Heavy Tank), Messe (Tank)
Detailed Breakdown
To fire the opening shots of this battle, we're going to drive straight into Minsk.
Simple right? Use Guderian to fire some big shots to destroy the defenders, while Model gets some anti-infantry special forces to wipe out the defenders.
Now comes the not so fun part.
After taking Minsk, Timoshenko approaches Minsk from the North to take the city back.
Hold the city with Model and other infantry, while your armoured forces bypass Timoshenko to attack the river town.
At the same time, I sent an armoured car downwards to take the bottom city, while purchasing reinforcements: Heavy artillery on Minsk and Infantry on the spawn town
Give the infantry on the spawn town some transport troops and send them up to liberate the towns from your allies!
This will be a long war, and you need every bit of cash to finance your troops. Oil... Food... Pay.... Visible stress
While Model holds Minsk with other infantry, Kesserling/Bock will approach down from the top to help you take Timoshenko out.
At the same time, purchase a heavy tank as reinforcement, and place Bock on it at the river factory. Stack him in the next turn, or in this turn if you have funds to spare.
Clean up at Minsk and Parachute Model to help the taking of Smolensk. I would advise you to paradrop the other infantry down to help the armoured car out in the south.
When things get nasty down in the south, keep recruiting on the car and the infantry. It's quite vital not to lose those two. They're key to securing the area around Gomel.
Meanwhile... my sneaky infantry is contributing to the war effort by gathering donations in those cities towards the back.
On the other hand, Kluge and his gang is not doing so well at Gomel, which is expected. Kesserling/Bock with my armoured car and infantry will have to clean up their mess later.
After taking Smolensk, the Russians will go crazy and Rush S.
Vasilevsky will approach you from the north, while Konev turns back to start firing at you. Rokossovsky gets ready to rush after Vasilevsky.
Stay calm, and divert all your armoured troops south to attack the southern factory-town.
No, I'm not crazy. You can leave behind a double stacked Bock to help killing Vasilevsky, but everything else except the infantry should head down.
The reasoning behind this is that your allies will be approaching soon, and you really don't want to lose your armoured forces in a drawn out confrontation around Smolensk.
Hold Smolensk with Model, reinforcement infantry, and artillery, while your armoured forces take the lightly defended southern factory-town to get some much needed repairs.
Heinrici and the other forces will come to your aid, wipe out Konev and surrounding forces attempting to attack Smolensk. You just have to keep Model alive. If you have trouble with that, try leaving Model without using a turn to attack. That saves some health from the counterattack
After stacking your Guderian, it should be ready just in time to roll up and flank Rokossovsky from the rear.
The won't know what hit them when your forces appear behind them.
You thought the snow was speaking russian, but it was I! Guderian!
Afterwards, continue holding Smolensk as your newly stacked forces RUSH T.
German engineering is the best!
Meanwhile, on the southern front:
The battle for Gomel is still ongoing. What. Yes.
If your armoured car gets low on health, roll it back to the factory for repairs. The infantry can use the forward city to replenish once taken, so that isn't much of a problem.
Take the airfield as soon as possible, you'll need it for air support afterwards.
Back to the northern front, take the factories in Tula to stack Bock, the fine german engineering should be enough to wreck havoc on the rest of the defenders.
Do the crabrave - I mean the pincer movement on the middle town. Caught between your two heavy tanks, a wild Hoth that has finally appeared and Model, they have no chance of resisting. Wipe them out.
Now, back to Gomel. Stack your infantry and head to Gomel for the final showdown.
Actually, skip the final showdown.
Take the airfield and let the defenders fear the skies!
Congrats! You've reached the end of the brief! Go out there and eat those troops!
Final notes: Tech level - z e r o. Special forces are all zero too. Generals? Free. If I can do it, so can you!
2. Remember to use special forces as the situation permits.
3. You should get the liberator infantry ASAP to take the back cities. I only remembered to buy it at turn 3, but he's definitely up from turn 1
4. If possible, do not lose any troops. If they're running low on health, retreat them from the frontline until you can replenish them. Especially applicable to Guderian.
If you have any other questions or discussions, feel free to post them here!

Battle Flow Brief
Terrain and Situational Brief
1. Many airfields spread out across the map
[Allows for paratroops and efficient use of air force]
2. Many towns and factories
[Useful for replenishing and recruiting after clearing out garrisons]
3. Many Allies on this map
[If they can keep pace with you, they will be valuable shields]
4. Large extent of plains across the map
[Extremely useful for moving troops]
5. River bordering north and west of Smolensk
[Consider crossing from the bottom]
Overall Strategy: Garrison the cities while your main force dodges incoming attacks to keep moving
