First of all, what is Civilization, or Sid Meier’s Civilization.
Named after his creator, Sid Meier, it is developed by Firaxis Game and edited by 2K games. It is a turn by turn strategy game where the goal is to create the most powerful civilization... from scratch. It currently has 6 sequels, which all have many expansion.
I recommend Civilization V, as it is cheaper (30 Can$ I think), all it’s expansions are free and it is relatively easier IMO. Civilization VI is also fun, but it is way more complicated, costs 80$ and all it’s expansions are between 30$ to 60$

I disliked how Civ 5 takes away some features away from Civ 4, yet it’s better than Civ 6 with the Vox populi mod. Civ 6 W/O expansions is basically for people to learn the core mechanics of the series, yet it has a cleaner UI that is less under-featured and has improved districts. Again this is based on my personal preference.

There are lots of bonusses you can work with, and all of these give a different playstyle. For example Byzantium is really war oriented, while Portugal gives lots of trade bonusses. That really gives interesting results, and makes for a good game, however you're playing. The AI is also really good, and actually quite better than the ET ai which just spams stuff.

I think the reason I prefer it is because I became really good at it. Playing as King difficulty became easy, I might try emperor soon. Might try Civ6 again.

I hate the barbars though :/ every time you build something, they come and pillage it.

Barbarians are so much easier to deal with in Civ5.

I like Civ 5 more because it was the first newer civilization title I played. The first one I ever played was Civ 3, which is very fun (but the leader pictures will give you nightmares)

I've been replaying Civ5 lately and I find it to be the better game. Civ6 has its strengths, particularly an improved combat system (I really miss corps and armies in civ5) and a number of quality of life improvements (Inspirations, Eurekas, better base terrain tile output, the ability to build harbors in cities that aren't directly on the coast, unmodded canals, etc.). However, Civ5 has a number of stronger game systems (the espionage and world congress systems are so much better) and the Civ6 AI is a bonehead.
