Seems like somewhere on this site I read that you could harvest goodies from history campaigns. But I've 3 starred the first two several times, and found that after you 3 star it the first time, all you get is coins. Can someone clear that up for me?

You'll get nothing ~20% of the time (the worst that I have experienced is "nothing" 3 times in a roll), book ~53% of the time and other special items ~27% of the time. The "other special item" for 1st Balkan War and Russo-Turkish War is gold medal. The "other special item" for for Austro-Prussia War, Cuban War, 2nd Balkan War and Battle of Verdum is silver medal. The "other special item" for Franco-Prussia War, Battle of Isonzo and Battle of Marne is Medical Supplies (+25% HP). Not sure about the 2 Civil War campaigns as I have dismissed all the Civil War Generals after completing them.
You can also get princess items, hero medals, improve card effect items or improve/increase missions items from Franco-Prussian War onward. I reckon the drop rate is about 33%.

I think it's more time effective to farm the daily videos for medals/books/golden star medal/silver star medal. cloud save, watch the video, then reload if you don't like the result. It's a 33% drop rate or 66% if you are also ok with medals.
