Welcome Commander, to the snowy wastelands of the USSR.
The pesky Germans have decided to camp out there for winter, but today is the day that we drive them out!
The mission will be slow, but not necessarily hard. After all, you have Marshal Zhukov himself participating!
As long as you play your part well, the glorious state will reward you.
Now, let us start with the briefing.
Mission Objectives: Annihilate the enemy
Sub Mission 1: Defeat Kleist in 10 turns
Sub Mission 2: Occupy Uman in 12 turns
Sub Mission 3: Occupy Odessa in 16 turns
Generals Used: Timoshenko (Tank), Cunningham (Infantry), Leclerc (Heavy tank), Chuikov (Heavy Artillery)
Detailed Breakdown
Phase 1: Uman
To start off, we're going to bully the Romanians in front of us. They're just in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Paradrop over and give them good hits
Konev will start engaging with Manstein in the meantime. Secure the area and move over to back up Konev.
At the same time, paradrop one of your infantry over to Kiev to take the cities.
It's all for the money, nothing personal
If you feel like it, you can also paradrop the double stacked infantry to Zhukov's city to steal that too, before following Zhukov to Kiev to paradrop out.
Wiping out Manstein's forces is very important as it triggers additional forces to fall under your control, which then be used to attack Kleist.
If you have KV6, this is the time to use it on Leclerc.
Transfer Chuikov down to attack Kleist too, while the rest of your forces move back up to attack the middle city.
Your Paratroopers should come down from Kiev along with Zhukov too.
The middle city is important as it triggers Zhukov to attack Uman. You shouldn't skip it.
After taking the city, replenish your troops and roll down to Uman!
Transport troops, special forces will help you get there on time.
After taking Uman, the Romanians will lead a counterattack. Form a human wall around Zhukov and start stacking your infantry.
Rotate your infantry around so each of them can get replenished, while still holding the city.
Don't forget to give them special forces if needed!
Phase 2: Odessa
While all this is happening, in a land far far away... (Actually just one mountain over)
The southern force attacks Kleist and gets prepares for the epic showdown against Model!
After taking the city and factories, replenish Leclerc. Model will be on a double stacked Heavy Tank, and you'll need to match up.
You can drive back and forth between the plains and factory to replenish while clearing the area.
Try not to lose any troops. You'll need all of them. Don't forget to give your infantry transport troops to keep up.
Finally, with stacked troops, we meet Model.
DO NOT ATTACK MODEL.
Your objective is to take Odessa in the time limit, not eliminate Model.
Attacking Odessa comes first, Model second.
Hit Model with your Katyusha, but use Leclerc and your other troops to attack and take Odessa before firing on Model.
By this time, Uman should be secured too, wipe up the remnants at the edge of the map and you're all set to go!
Congrats, you've reached the end of the briefing, roll out there and push the Germans off the map!
Final notes: My tech level is 0, special forces are zero, with all free generals. If I can do it, so can you!
1. I lost Cunningham to Kleist, but if you can keep him alive, do it. 4 stacks of infantry could make your life easier.
2. If you really have trouble taking Odessa, you can paradrop a few infantry from Uman over.
3. I know you might be tempted to send Chuikov with Zhukov to take Uman, but you need Chuikov to deal with Model at Odessa, and there's no way you're going to make it from Uman to Odessa in time.
4. Remember to equip special forces! I hardly used mine apart from paratroopers, you can do better!
