- Nelson

- Barbarossa
- Alexander
- Saladin
- Catherine
- Lincoln
- Jhansi
My first 10 generals. I listed them by how good they are right now in my point of game. Which is:
Aztec Campaign 2 - Discovery Age
Empire Age Conquest (did the first 2)
Level 65
Gunpowder Age (but I am not going to upgrade my generals from Discovery to Gunpower anytime soon, 1200 medals a piece?)
Nordic Trial II
I'm thinking of Blucher, but his stats are much worse than Suleiman, who in turn has worse skills. I can also get Yi, but I already have 4 archers in my top 10. I can always upgrade other generals.
Medals aren't a big problem, I just can't upgrade en masse. That just destroys my economy.
I'm going to get Bismarck in 5 levels, just so you know.
I can try to upgrade to Industrial, but I'm 450 literature short.

Jeez, EW5 is one of thoe games where i'm not as confident in giving answers about questions like these. The safest answer is to just keep going until you hit a wall,then make a decision, which is usually just upgrading existing general skills and ranks. I'll just vote li shimin. Peter is a good option as well. If you have the medals to invest in li shimin,you're good. Medals for initial cost and rank up cost should be the priority first for li shimin. Personally not a fan,but in your situation, you can probably get away with him.

I would suggest that you upgrade god suriyothai to industrial. Her stats are purple, she is absolutely OP with max cavcom, inspiration, and plunder. Then, get Li Hongzhang in industrial to maximise archcom ability.

So. Upgrade ur gens to next age(although people dont recommend losing mass fire from nobby, i do cause stats make up for it) upgrade nelson and saladin and barbarossa and nobby. get suri max her. Get an artillery, probably khalid or heich. Get petain max him. Be cool dont over do anything. The sequence tell priority imo so follow it. If u face a wall change ur concentration until u have medals. Think over it and then use medals as u please or of course ask us. This is how i did when i didn't know of this place😇.

The different arguments about how he's bad is simply a way for the veterans to discourage new players to purchase the cavalry god and ruin their ew5 experience. I know because I won't recommend Charlemagne as well. Too OP. |

If you want to continue in the campaign, upgrading your gens will be enough.
But for endgame, I suggest buying gens with leadership and spy, since they're the most useful skills to deal with those gods and monsters in hard mode. So maybe replace Jhansi with Li Hongzhang and someone else with Edward. You might also consider Moctezuma or the version of Pachacuti you get in the arena.
If you want a second artillery after Bismarck, get Khalid (in hard mode walls have high defence, too, and Khalid has spy)

i luv archers too. Hua Mulan and Pachi from arena awakened fits perfectly i find to Catherine, Washington and Nobunaga. Archcomm being meta
