When Gerd von Rundstedt said "But it is clear that Scott is far better than either.", "either" was referring to Scharnhorst and Kutuzov. Yes, he's better than Kutuzov, but Scharnhorst? Outrageous! Skills: Scott - Salvo, Explosives, Storm Fortifications, Counterattack, Inspiration Scharnhorst - Salvo, Artillery Master, Plain Fighting, Inspiration If we remove all useless skills: Scott - Salvo, Storm Fortifications, Inspiration Explanation: Explosives is trash because the thing that it counters (bunkers) are rarely used by the enemy and is trash in general. Only RA generals care about this, which Scott is not. Counterattack is sad here because some artillery cannot attack back, while others get destroyed when trying to use this skill when not in a controlled environment. Scharnhorst - Salvo, Artillery Master, Plain Fighting, Inspiration Stats: Scott gains 26 BA when maxed out, giving him 62 BA. He will have 15% damage. Scharnhorst will get 26 BA when maxed, giving him a total of 60 BA. 15% damage. Scott has 50 AA, while Scharnhorst has 46 AA. 12% and 11% respectively, for a total of 27% and 26%. 1% difference, not much, around a 0 damage difference. Cost: Scott gives you 5 levels of good skills for 1370 medals. Scharnhorst is 1170 medals for 6 levels of good skills. Scharnhorst is the winner here. Verdict: Unlike the Kutuzov-Scharnhorst % difference, since arty doesn't have 100 attack (IIRC), only a difference of 1 will be achieved, as ET rounds down. So Scott's only advantage washes away. Scharnhorst gives you 1 more good skill and cost wise, is more efficient in terms of damage than Scott. No reason to get Scott over Scharnhorst.
