Hi,
I have tried fast approach to Carthage, get beaten. Tried holding at the western city, defeating first wave and then move west, but allies collapse and I get swamped. Managed to take Rome on 26 and most of Iberia, but Anthony does his usual collapse and the eastern allies are useless. Rox get wiped out, Scythia dont turn up til 35, then are ineffective. Now facing Octavian legionaires and javelineers and Noricums and Dacian heavy infantry.
Any advice most welcome. I have most top tier gens and a lot of items, but cannot crack this one.

This is a West Vs East type of Conquest.
Does Aegyptus consistently invade the Nabataeans? Maybe you can send some troops to assist them, take some cities and campaign in the east. This should begin your long journey to secure Asia and a base for your allies to march against Augustus and Lepidus.

Hi Nobunaga Oda, I figured as much, east versus west. I can secure Africa and Iberia but can only get halfway up Italy. Egypt knocks out Nabateans and southern Parthian city. They are actually the best functioning of all my allies. I donated to Armenia early to try to protect the NE from Parthian overrun, and brought Rox in as quickly as possible. Is there anyway to keep the NW front alive? The Octavian generals are battered by the time I get to Rome but the AI has depth and loads of resources, spamming those top tier units I mentioned. I would love not to have to slog east to west if at all possible.

Do you feel that your allies can continue to hold out, or expand in an ideal scenario, until you breach Gaul? If you can, continue playing.
Hold out in Italy, spam heavy troops to resist the enemy spam and enter Gaul via the Iberian Peninsula, assuming that your economy can sustain spamming heavy troops.

Nobunaga Oda, thanks, and will keep pushing. Furthest I have got with these guys so far. Want to finish the Nasamones, then just Antony and Octavian to play in Augustus.
