The Battle of Ecbatana was a hard one and it took me a few attempts to finally do it. I would say its the hardest level I encountered so far to past, my victory in the level was very narrow. This campaign ending seems somewhat grounded. Rather then a grand victory, the end of this campaign is the withdraw of Roman forces. The Scourge of God campaign is quite a long time since the last campaigns and it feels like a epilogue in this story of Rome. I will focus on getting to the Han decisive battle so I can start farming it. I have brought Octavian. I will finally get to changing my archer commander to cavalry and I am really considering on what skills to add. I plan to have cavalry commander, guerrilla, assault. I am undecided on the 4th skill. I am deciding between charge and plain fighting. My skills are pretty close to Belisarius but Belisarius has a great skills and I wouldn't mind having similar skills for my commander.

If it's between these two then charge seems to be the better choice because then there is no competition for plain hexes and your Commander being an vs infantry specialist will give him an edge over Belisarius in certain scenarios. On the other hand, there are Antony, Arminius and Scipio who already have charge... One could also argue that guerilla can be compensated with health packs.
Other options for the 4th skill are March and Siege but it's only about optimizing the last ~10% of an already great Commander.

I completed the campaign from the han side. Seems like a similar ending to the roman side, as war exhaustion causes the han to stop their campaign. Its not explicitly stated but I imagine the romans and hans would have negotiated a peace treaty to end the conflict. For my commander, I decided my 4th skill will be charge. A big factor was my commander would be able to get the best use of the Apollo banner this way. For infantry, I really want to focus on my top infantry generals so I want to Pompey to use the banner of jupiter. I will use Bato for the banner of Eagle.

As these are the final levels I expect the difficulty to really go up here. i just did the Siege of Constantinople and admittedly it wasn't my finest performance. There were 4 enemy generals, which isn't too much compared to what we faced before but 2 of them are on war chariots. The roman counter attack on Philippopolis caught me off guard. My allies captured Philippopolis but they lost it to the counter attack. I had to recapture Philippopolis and clear the area. By then I only had a few of my generals left and captured the last city on turn 23 of turn 24, nowhere fast enough for a 3 star.

This is my current senate. I am quite satisfied with my progress. At this point, a few of my buildings are maxed.

I am focusing on doing the hero legends now. I been neglecting it for a awhile. I will get the gem for the goblin from the stonehenge so I presume there will be more gems to summon stuff in the other stages. I haven't been able to 3 star any of the recent campaign levels so I could really use these summon unit types and the purple gem to upgrade some banners.

best75, you get monsters after completing chapters 1, 3, 5, 7, 10. From my experience it's wise to hold on to the purple gems and don't spend them on banners (except for Jupiter and Apollo) and Goblin. Minotaur comes last so his usefulness is limited. So I agree with Navia Lanoira, the summons mentioned should at least be lv5 (3 stacks) to perform well. Higher levels are better of course, but gems become scarce. I'd rate them Terracotta>Mammoth>Griffin after having completed hero legend. Also, if you're already swimming in medals, temporarily hiring the silver and bronze generals (95% resell value) for each stage makes them much easier and allows saving supply packs for the hardest levels.

This is my current general rooster. Im summary, the order I purchased them is Pacorus - Drusus - Pompey - Belisarius - Vercingetorix - Mithridates - Arminius - Octavian - Bato - Commius. Right now I am mostly buying some of the good medal items and upgrading the significant skills.

This is the state of my Pompey after I upgraded some of his skills and gave him the jupiter banner. I am quite proud of him. I went free to play with GCR and the experience has been quite nice. The daily medal gain feels especially good.

I focused on Belisarius next and his skills fully upgraded. Undoubtedly one of the best non-iap generals and he really carried me through the game.
