Despite the delectable new choice, I still remain convinced that Nappy is the better option. The two have the same range, sorta. Nappy wins on Logistics. They share Braveness. In end stats I will assume that Arthur is a better Caesar, in which they have around equal worth Statwise. Arthur clearly wins in Active (I think that it means that he will pull a reverse Armor Master on the original target, making other units deal that double damage). Nappy has triple damage to walls and +50% counterattack damage. Nappy lights the world on fire, being countered or on regular attack with his Code. Arthur gets to attack again (probably 30% chance) and ignore terrain. I still vote Nappy, simply because he is a very high damage Artillery and there really aren't good non-Napoleon Artillery.

Edit: Turns out Nappy gets, instead of the trash counter perk, a likely 30% chance to attack again.

How does Nappy win on Logistics? With AM, he's weaker than Shingen with AE, Caesar does not. And what about Washington?

Nappy gets Plunder, which is just a better Logistics. And he does have very high attack for an Artillery. Washington is just flat out worse than both of them.

Both are the same when maxed (if you have an IAP it's not that hard to grind). To reiterate, he's weaker than Shingen. High for arty, eh for literally anything else. Washington had Logistics, and had DM for survivability. He has great stats and and godly strafe, which nukes everything. Archer Commander is also really cheap (Jhansi and Li), making him even more devastating while Nappy has Heihachiro (you only need 1 arty) and Khalid only (?).

Even close to blue cavalry damage is great for an Artillery, especially considering that they get triple damage to forts. Great stats, so? So does every single IAP. Furthermore, Washington is really only great in ArchCom while Nappy is fantastic in any lineup. Strafe is great, but I am not sure it is worth Rumor as well as triple fort damage. Commanders are not really a need for Artillery, even though they are nice, certainly not as much as the other units, simply due to their lower attack.

Blue cavalry damage is not the best way to make use of Plunder, and forts are still bulky and not easy to farm. Every IAP besides Nappy. Washington can still kill anything and everything without Commander. Rumor is covered by Richard, Peter, Blucher, and further debuffs by Archers. Washington can kill any unit, while Nappy can only take on forts, unless Rumor triggers.

But Nappy can hold an item really easily with his new 7 star buff of having a chance to attack again combined with Plunder and a useless active.

Did you use Arthur? He can attack 2 more enemies within 2 hexes with 150% atk in 3 turns (at lvl 10) when his first skill actived. And remember that he's an infantry and has 30% to attack again when kill a unit, so keep his skill actived is not a big problem. His unique item (armor) makes him immune to low morale or chaos. Only flaw is when he kills enemies by additional attack (with his skill), he doesn't get recover. This is same to Li Shimin AoE normal attack.

I still believe that Washington is the most annoying opponent in arena. And it seems unlikely that we can avoid teams with Washington after the last update. But since I have only 7k left before unlocking Pachy, it is tolerable

Arthur replaces Li's only unique niche, AOE (Koxinga sucks). The way I see it, if you have Arthur, you will probably be using Bismarck and Heihachiro as arty, with Li not being used as an arsonist for those with Arthur. I'm F2P, so I'll have to splurge on Li if I want AOE. Koxinga who?

It is better to finish the units with Cavalry or even Infantry (Infantry recieved weaker mobility in the Update) to fill the rage bar. And AOE damage is bad here.

My two cents: I only got to use the pre-assigned Arthur in Western Giants 3, but I have to say that he is quite a beast. I think that he is better (at least slightly) than Washington. And his active skill is good, he can deal additional damage to two other units for two turns. And with the chance of attacking again after killing a unit he can refill his rage bar quickly, which makes his skill much, much better than AOE on Koxinga or Li Shimin!

It is early to judge but my impression so far is that cavalry is the main winner of the last update. +50 percent bonus against archers is a huge advantage. Archers are the most tough opponents in this game, and cavalry has excellent chances now to wipe out the whole colony of archers (they are still quite fragile in defence) even before they start shooting. Of course, there are some missions when some enemies can't be attacked with cavalry, but on a whole I see that cavalry gained more than other unit types. I think Artillery in general needs a buff. I am not even sure that some counterattack bonuses and burning are worth to spend medals on it... Though new design of Artillery looks cool
