So I was able to get to this stage without too much bother and I’ve hit this mission, and I’m starting to get very annoyed. Ive played this multiple things and I can’t seem to beat this!

So I was able to get to this stage without too much bother and I’ve hit this mission, and I’m starting to get very annoyed. Ive played this multiple things and I can’t seem to beat this! Okay. Put your Generals in all the units. And mobilize 2 units to the south and 2 to the city (+the one you deploy in the green circle….btw don’t try to take the city) Belisarius and Bessas will run in the last turns so put all your units between the enemy at the north and your Allies. here some images where my situation run out of control but I do it. First image:I didn’t manage to take Aetius out of the middle so he will die Second Image: there is a unit between Bassas and but Belisarius is “secure” Third Image: here I start predicting what I was supposed to do Fourth Image: bassas and Belisarius start leaving (Belisarius is blocked by my units so try to don’t do that) Fifth image: ones bassas leave I just passes turns and leave my Gens die. things to keep in my: my Aetius have 2 Viking Raider and 1 Legion Brigade I use Lupicinus,John the Armenian, dihya (first time I use hermeric),Aetius and Belisarius.

Thortilla, is the retreat natural or triggered? Belisarius got destroyed while I wasn't looking and Bessus stood his ground near Rome.

Thortilla , is the retreat natural or triggered? Belisarius got destroyed while I wasn't looking and Bessus stood his ground near Rome. Both of them start running in turn 6. My recommendation is to put your best 3 Gens (the 2 units +your deployed Gen)in the north and use them as human wall to save bessus (normally Belisarius survives with your 2 Gens protecting him)

Odd that the two didn't run at all on my first and only try. Perhaps wiping out the eastern and/or southern forces are the trigger.
Update: Wiping out the southern forces as soon as possible might be the trigger to enable an allied withdrawal.
