So I just started this game. I saw that there was no beginners guide but I bought massena. There is also a auto-conquest for the netherlands. But every time I try to do the conquest I fail. Or the british spam cotton and a gazillion units at me or the prussians snipe my capital while the british are still in the netherlands. Am I just dumb or do I do something wrong?

Iirc, some update made things a bit more difficult, but it should still be doable. Maybe if you have tech level at zero you might have trouble resisting those British units. Increase your tech lvls a bit and get an ambulance for Massena, then you shouldn't have more problems

Generally, I would say to so with the French to wipe out Austria and Prussia, and either go on to Russia or move back to deal with Britain, but I recommend the former. Spam militia. If you want to auto some of it, AI when Austria/Prussia falls.

You probably may want to play a 3* and 2* conquest first before manually trying out the Netherlands. Assuming that this is your first run.
If you want to grind for Medals, Campaign mode is an easier choice.

Kinda unfair how a lot of the generals have way more hp than my generals For beginners, the easier 3 star countries would be England or the Ottomans. Maybe even the HRE. 2 stars would be Denmark or Sweden. The enemy generals are more upgraded, their tech level might be higher aswell.

Except for Challenge Conquest (always scaled to be stronger), I think normal Conquest has fixed upgrades. I talked about a beginner's (my) run as the Ottoman Empire. Here: european-war-4.boards.net/thread/9144/tips-ottoman-empire-1798 It may be better to avoid countries that are guaranteed to spam numerous gens (Britain, France, Russia) so that they can perform optimally. Feel free to consult the existing guides.

Yes, you are. I would advise you to spend all of your income on simply diplomacy and maybe a couple of Coastal Artillery. If I remember correctly, if you destroy your port and disband Verhuell, then the Brits won't attack you.

Many thanks

Make sure you remove the port you started with, and also sacrifice Verhuel, you don’t need him. For some reason, the AI seems to send less troops at you when you don’t have any naval power.
