I'm right now playing the African campaign and want to get some generals for the alliance missons. I can afford getting 3 generals so I'll choose one of each category. I'm convinced that Mc Arthur and Govorov are the only must-get generals for infantry and artillery (correct me if I'm mistaking). But I'm still confused about who is the best tank general,going from the 1941 African campaign and moving on.

Patton generally sucks (best Allied MT, but Vatutin is a cheaper [and stronger] replacement), but Patton can tank thing Vatutin can't. In the past, I have leaned towards Patton, but now I suggest Vatutin, PL seems like a double-edged sword for Patton, no? Monty is worse than Roko (he just is), so I suggest Roko and then Vatutin. Govorov can be delayed for 1944, and Mac-A is the best infantry general in the game. Chuikov will do fine now, but 1944 demands Govorov. You can always go for Dowding/Halsey/Mountbatten/Nimitz, all viable choices. |

Agreed with Johnny on Patton, he is awful and you don't need an MT.
However, if you primarily fight against not-tanks (infantry) with your HT (like 5 not tank shots to every tank shot) then Monty will have higher output along with his other advantages, those being the gold Mechanist and lineup prevalence.

Roko is generally better on heavy tank than Monty does Tho

Roko then Vatutin
Just cons of Vatutin is that no blitz, he might died fast. But no need to worry he also have huge damage so

Roko is a good Heavy Tank general. Get Patton in '44/North Africa.
