Richard: Powerful and arguably the strongest cavalry general. Comes with 2500 medals, seals and Knights Templar, a powerful and useful special unit. You can also get a good buff with his special equipment, Immortality, which you get from the beginning. Along with his unit, medals, privilege and seals, his is very worth it despite being the most expensive IAP general. You can use the seals to upgrade titles, increasing damage and decrease damage received. You can use the medals to but Basil II, Alfred or Harald.
Attila: Good points and bad skills, basically Aetius but with an archer skill, easily replaceable, his unit is one you get through daily logins.
Olga: Mediocre points and bad kills, worse than Aetius who you get for free, could be used as consul but replaceable with Antonia. Unit you get is good but might not be needed.

1. Richard, the best IAP and worth to buy in game 2. Proof of Honour, we can get Beowulf, caesar, and Unic-Weapon for Non-IAP general if we buy Proof of honour 3. Saladin, He's the best archer-Cavalry general with G-Khan, His privilege good too 4. Charlemagne, he have top tier cavalry 'Hospitaller', and has privilege like saladin 5. Atilla, his privilege is good, but his unit is trash 6. Arthur, His unit is Normal (not too good or bad), but his privilege is teras 7. Olga, has good skill and Normal Unit, but her rank is really bad but will be great if she be a consul

i made a complete review on all the things you can buy and which are worth buying (https://european-war-4.boards.net/thread/16949/worth-spending-money-full-guide)
quick summary, only richard and saladin are worth the money you spend. only good thing from proof of honour is cesar and bewolf, the unique item are useless because generals suck and rest of the rewards you can grind over time, so proof of honour not worth

1. Richard I, the best charge cavalry commander, which is the best unit (also his unique item bonus applies to the best of the charge cav units). The login bonus gives you medals, which is always good. 2&3. Charlemagne and Saladin. As commanders they are good, even if on limited unit types. I would probably go Charlemagne over Saladin because you can unlock Charlemagne's unique item (but i think Saladins is still locked). The reason these two are high is because the +1 deploy lets you play your IAPs with their bonus units. I am honestly not sure why you would buy IAPs to use them as a normal general in the campaigns... 4. Bonus tracks. You get two generals, some unique items, and a lot of things that simply ease the farming. 5 and 6. Arthur and Olga. Arthur has the slightly better set up skill and unit wise, Olga's is kinda a mess (why doesn't her unique item's bonus apply to a counter infantry unit?). The login bonuses are fine, in that they replace spending the time of doing a conquest to farm gold, but not great. 7. Attila. Listen, I have attila, he can do a lot of damage, like 1000+, but it takes so much to get him there that he just feels weak as an IAP (especially compared to bow/artillery commanders in other games like zhukov). Also, I am not sure when you would ever need his bonus, maybe one of the hard mode maps, but i sure havent encountered a need yet...
I don't think there should be any real doubt that if you only get one, it should be Richard I.

For 0,99€ you get Robin Hook, which is fairly decent and I’d say wholesome.

For 0,99€ you get Robin Hook, which is fairly decent and I’d say wholesome. Probably not necessary. Ranged inf doesn’t seem like the biggest priority and we could do with Edward the Black prince later down the line. Plus you need to spend nearly 11x as much to get his item and his units are woad raiders, pretty bad, but most likely not too relevant. If you really want to spend money. Do it on something that actually gets you an significant upgrade. Richard and Saladin are basically the go to. Charlemagne is borderline.

Maybe you don’t like a fictional character in an historical game (like I do). Ranged units are important against counter infantry which can become a real pain later on. Moreover Richard is not necessary if you are a sort of F2P player and Alfred or Basil exist. WoadRiders are not that bad when upgraded (yes, the game submerges us all with their fragments) if you don’t have yellow or red tier ranged units. Personally I use Ravenna crossbow men and they support my other generals quite well in fatal blows.

you can use harald, belisarius or aetius to take out counter infantry before your charge cav attacks enemy. Range is not a priority even though they counter the counter infantry well. I would just wait for genghis khan, el cid, edward black prince. Can get saladin if you want as well but his item is locked.

I already use those 3 infantry generals, which I find more than an aid in many battles. The point is that I like to differentiate my army in different scenarios and Robin is the cheaper decent archer next to Lupicinus who is free.

you can invest in justinian who is decent enough as a range general, but you are mainly getting him for future conquests or if you want to autoconquest
