Why you get secondary Heavy tank instead of just a balance set of gens? I'm in 1944, where they sometimes give you 2 HTs, or you get 1 at the start and 1 reinforcement HT. Roko for the 1st one and Monty for the second, paired wit Vatutin on the MT. A balanced set with 1 useless general (Mountbatten) is a waste on land. With 6 slots, I can have (balanced): - 1 Inf
- 1 MT
- 1 HT
- 1 Arty
- 1 Air (if rich)
I have to double up. Obvious choice is HT, they hit hard and are tanky. If I can't afford air, can always use an inf. general. To quote Gerd von Rundstedt, "From 1944 on for the Axis and 1941 Africa on for the Allies (i.e. when things actually start to get difficult and you need top tier tank gens), you always have at least two HTs." For the Axis, the only other option is Hoth (or Bock, but Bock's just an Econ gen at this point), who is absolute trash. Just is. Or Heinrici, who is worse. |
