I got Manstein recently and I'm using him on a fully maxed Maus and using Gurdarian on fully maxed Panzer. Is this the right combo (So I don't need Rommel, hein 😉 or am I tripping)?
And because I can use Manstein during the allies missions, am I supposed to get another heavy tank general or get 2 medium tank generals? And which ones I should choose?

Medium tank generals are irrelevant, Heavy Tank gens are so much better. And nobody does Heavy Tanks better than Rommel  . I recommend sticking with an HT centric tank group. |

Personally, looking an Mansteins skill sets, he's more suited to be on medium tanks.
For allies, I suppose you can skip patton and just buy a heavy tank general

Manstein on Heavy is equal or better than Manstein on med cause of higher damage and better range

To elaborate a bit more, Blitzkrieg is generally considered to be a MT skill. A HT doesn't quite need blitzkrieg due to the range that it has. On the other hand, Panzer leader is considered to be the HT skill, which allows HTs to attack over and over again, without receiving any damage due to their range. A panzer leader on MTs would be reasonable too, but it would also result in more damage taken overall, which is not quite ideal when compared to HTs |
