Has anyone finished it yet? I have only bought basil with medals, and I have recently unlocked Varangians. When I try attacking London or the middle coastal city I get beaten up with spam. Probably too early but I’ll wait

I'd say take your time on this one and don't rush. First take over the cities in the left side but don't attack London yet.
Once the cities are taken, take a moment to replenish your troops at the cities (you should be getting a pretty decent income every round),
Next clean up those longbowmen in the top left and top right (or at least damage them enough), once you are ready, surround the general and London. Use siege towers to deal the final blow.

Probably too early but I’ll wait Un my opinion the best way to finish this mission is to conquer the first costal city and then defeat the girl. After that conquer the other costal city on the left as your allies will not do it. Then deploy all the troops with generals that you can and try to ele mínate some northern enemies as they will not move as longer as you don’t attack London. When you fell that you can take los on in one turn, attack it and prepare some troops for the last city. In this part I recommend you to move troops for the right side of London as there are less troops and their general will only focus on London. Try to avoid him and attack directly the city from your right flank. There you have a castle we’re you can buy more troops if you want Take into account that in this mission when the enemy want to create more troops in their attacked cities, they will launch a completed army every turn as the seem to have unlimited resources. So always attack when you have all your strong troops. I recommend you a general with interception skill since in this mission is really useful and with Matilda you can use it two times in a turn

This mission was quite hard. My advice is: - prepare a general in the west, ready to take the allied city. The enemy usually kill the allied unit, but without taking it, so it's empty. If the enemy is lucky and takes it, restart; - use Aethelfrith's arsonist skill against Matilda of Boulogne. I could reset his skill twice using empress Matilda and Theodora, so I could burn that witch at the stake very quickly; - when you are ready to take London, surround it with your generals without attacking it, so the other enemy units won't approach you immediately; then you should be able to take it in 2 turns (or even 1, with good generals).

I found that this mission was much easier than revolt of earls or battle of bremules. I was able to pretty much just brute force this mission.

I see a way to increase the win rate higher. Let allied generals attack London while you quickly capture 2 coastal cities. This only activates when the leftmost coastal city is occupied by an enemy and you either fill the coastline quickly or you capture the city the next turn. They contributed very effectively in attacking London. Move your troops to attack London, I use the Alfred skill that is activated twice. Also, always spawn unit and deploy any of your generals. Occupying and holding London for 2-3 turns is enough to confirm victory because the enemy is no longer able to spawn. There is an advantage in this campaign that the economy per turn is enough to sustain a complete piece

I wonder how differently this mission would play out when they rework empress Mathilda.
