Unfortunately ET decided that the Anglo-Saxon conquest was too powerful and it has now been nerfed. Now, you have to capture 10 cities as well as the previous defeat britons and reach feudal age. So, it now takes quite a bit longer to farm 12.5k gold.

Harrying of The North is a very good option. You can do 1200 Coins fast.

Well I just completed an Anglo Saxon conquest. It took 10 minutes which is slower but still pretty fast. Unless you can finish that campaign in 1 minute, I think I'd rather do Anglo-Saxon still
