Well, I have almost completed house of Normandy’s mission but I’m getting struggle with the last one and the last red one. I’ve been thinking on buying another general but I don’t know which one. At this moment I have like 7500 medals and the only general I’ve bought is Richard.

Depends I think Harald is good, amazing active, decent skills and also very useful in naval missions I'm gonna assume in the future there's going to be really strong generals so Cnut might a nice investment due to his 50% damage reduction in attack and counter attack for is active, similar skills & stats to Harald although he does have an item so he has more potential for only 200 more medals Basil is another good cav gen good capability and skills, that headhunting can be upgraded to max output every 2 rounds Tier 4s are a great investment because their potential and be greatly increased due to items

Well First off, I do think you should buy another gen other than Richard in order to complete the Civil war mission. First, I suggest you to buy a heal gen (Adil I would be great), also you need a cav gen to supplement richard, I'd suggest buying Alfred since you're going to get noble cavalry in for the rewards of the normandy campaign. I really do not think you need an infantry general at this point, since you already get 3 good inf gens for free (Ivar, Belisarius and Aetius), hut if you really want one- buy Cnut or Harold. But in summary, I'd suggest you to buy alfred alongside a healing general. You could also invest in Basil, or roland but you must definitely have at least 2 strong cav gens in order to complete Civil war. After chapter 7, I honestly do not know what to buy as well (lol) I have 3000 medals and 2 good cav gens but have no clue whatsoever what to do, I'm waitig for el cid to come out.

I have already completed all the house of Normandy missions end in my opinion the novel cavalry is better to exchange it for Templar knights. Although Alfred is a impressive general, you will do more damage with high level templars rather than upgrading two difficult to obtain units. Also you will have to spend mithril in his unique equipment and it’s really difficult to gain it. Maybe I will buy alfred but my first plan is to wait for komenos dinasty and buy the Cid

However it doesn’t work and and he has -1 attack compared to Basil II . I see only damage reduction and administrative points (Alfred is useful as a consul and makes life easier in egemony).

Mine is not upgraded, but with lvl1 his shield must provide 10% bonus damage. And he wasn't before the update. I haven't checked it after the update though.

I have a lvl9 shield and I made some tests. Alfred deals the same damage of Basil II (slightly less tbh). The first has 76 cavalry points and the second 80 . The game just only recognises cavalry points and not attack bonuses given by unique items. In conclusion I wasted gold and mythrill

Should I go straight to max lvl10 (or 15, I don’t know) ?

I haven't checked it after the update though. If I remember correctly his shield has damage reduction and administration points... So, 10 percent alone are not a big difference, especially since Alfred doesn't have any terrain bonuses.

I don't know either , I just thought that before lvl 9 his buff of the noble cavalry is only 10 percent. Taking into account that Basil has more cavalry points and terrain buff they are very close at commanding noble cavalry...

I adjusted their ability points. And their skills provide same buff. Will check it again after the holidays. Maybe update solved the problem.

I made tests on desert just to exclude Basil’s terrain bonus (which is sadly low).
