Well I saw a lot of comments about Basil is better than Roland but I bought Roland because of his unique equipment. I upgraded his sword to level 3 and I bought a Nicean Horse and currently Roland is beasting in the early missions.
I started the game yesterday,I played WC3,WC4, European War 4-5-6 hundreds of hours so I have experience in ET games. EW7 brought so many new mechanics and I'm still trying to adapt the game. I'm a F2P player , I just bought 250 medals for getting Robin Hood and this will be the only money for me to spend in the game.
Now I have Belisarius,Roland,Robin Hood (rest is some bronze generals Stilicho+Adil and free ones)
I have each inf+arch+cav generals for now, what should I do next? Is Justinian worth it for conquests or should I just get Basil?
Also I don't quite understand how War Gears works, when I use war gears in game, do they just dissappear after using them? I upgraded catapult to level 3 and I'm not sure If I should use them or not because I don't want to waste them.
Also is it worth levelling up lower tier units like swordsman, legion brigade etc. ? In EW6 whenever we upgrade the units our enemies also were upgrading their units so it was a bit pointless to upgrade units.
